Once she was inside, Jonathan signaled to the driver. "Let's head home."

"We're thinking of spending the weekend at Misty Resort," Arabella announced.

"Oh? What's the occasion?" Florence asked, curious. "You're not keeping something from us, are you?"

"Ride?" Florence repeated, not following at first.

"Sounds good," Arabella said. Then she sighed lightly. "Too bad Alfred isn't back yet. I wish he could be there too."

Just then, a familiar voice came from the foyer. "Miss me already?"

They all looked up, surprised.

"Alfred!" Arabella jumped up, her face brightening. "You're home!"

"Yeah, got back just in time to hear my little sister say she misses me," Alfred said, strolling into the living room with a tired but happy grin. "Makes the trip worth it."

He'd wrapped up his assignment and driven straight home—hearing that as he walked in was a pretty good welcome.

"You were gone so long this time—of course I missed you," Arabella said warmly. "Besides, I have some good news to tell you, Alfred."

"Oh yeah? What's up?" he asked, dropping his bag by the couch.

"Well... it's potentially good news," Arabella clarified with a laugh. "My flight test is tomorrow. If I pass, I get my license. And if I get my license, we're all spending the weekend at Frank's place in Misty Resort. The whole family. So yeah, I wanted you here too."

"That's not 'potentially' good news—that's just good news," Alfred said, his eyes lighting up. "We all know you're gonna ace it."

"Absolutely, you've got this," Ethan chimed in.
