Dora pouted reluctantly. She had finally found a handsome man she liked as her potential dad and didn't want to give up so easily. Her eyes darted around as an idea struck her.
"But it's so quiet outside, and I'm scared. I don't dare to go back. How about you walk me back? Or can I borrow your phone to call my mommy so that she can pick me up?"
This way, Hera could meet the handsome man! Dora thought she was so clever.
Bernard sneered. Scared to go back? And she claimed it wasn't the adults who sent her! Esther must have sent the child over seeing that she couldn't secure a meeting with Douglas.
"You're too scared to go back? Fine, then stay here," Bernard said curtly. Then, he turned and returned to his room.
Dora was left in a daze.
…
In Room 1506, Gino and Dylan had a great time competing, but it ended in a tie. Though they were both eager for more, they needed to sleep.
Dylan headed to the other room, only to find that Dora wasn't in bed. He immediately searched the room, but she was nowhere to be found.
"Dyl, what's wrong?" Gino asked, hearing the commotion.
Dylan looked worried. "Dora is missing."
"Did she go upstairs to look for Hera after getting upset?" Maxwell headed for the door. "Let's go check."
They quickly made their way to the 16th floor and rang the doorbell of Room 1606.
Tiffany answered the door, looking surprised. "Dyl, Gino, what brings you back? Where's Dora?"
Both Gino's and Dylan's hearts sank.
"She didn't come here?" they asked.
"No, isn't she with you?" Tiffany was confused.
"I'll go request the surveillance footage from the front desk," Gino added.
"Just hack it," Hera said as she began typing on her keyboard.
It would take too much time to explain to the front desk staff and request the footage, which she could easily access. Fortunately, she had previously hacked the hotel's system and knew her way around.
Gino's eyes lit up. He had completely forgotten how skilled Hera was at this!
In no time, Hera pulled up the footage from half an hour ago, showing Dora leaving her room, going downstairs to buy ice cream, and returning. She then tracked the elevator camera, which revealed that Dora and Douglas went to the 16th floor together.
Dora then ate her ice cream in the stairwell before slipping into Room 1666 after Douglas left. She hadn't come out since.
Hera was shocked to see this. Why had Dora gone to look for Bernard?
"Room 1666? Isn't that room not open to the public?" Gino was surprised. "Does Dora know the person staying there?"
