Leah kept admiring the ring, while Vesta's expression remained flat. Leah could tell at a glance that she wasn't moved by it.
It made sense. Ever since Vesta had met Thorne, she had been given only the best of everything. And considering Thorne had spent a fortune on a top-tier diamond for her proposal, the stone in this ring paled in comparison.
Just as Leah was thinking this, a sales associate, noticing their designer clothes, approached them with a warm smile. "If you ladies are interested in diamond rings, we have some even more exceptional pieces right this way."
Vesta had no real interest in the store's offerings, but she knew Leah did.
The associate brought out several high-end pieces, including a diamond necklace that immediately captivated Leah. She stared at it, her eyes wide. "How many carats is the main diamond on this necklace?"
Sensing a potential sale, the associate beamed. "You have excellent taste, miss. The diamond on this necklace is the largest and most beautiful one in our entire store. It's a total of—"
Jasmine, who had been bored by the jewelry, stood on her tiptoes to get a better look. Before the associate could finish, she frowned and looked up at Vesta. "Is that really the biggest one in the store? It looks so small."
The associate's smile faltered. She figured the child couldn't possibly know anything about diamonds. In fact, both Leah and Vesta thought the same.
At that moment, Vesta snapped out of her trance. She tried to cut Leah off. "Minnie, I need to use the restroom. Can you come with—"
"No, thank you. I don't need to go," Jasmine replied, annoyed by the sarcasm in Leah's voice. "Why is it impossible? Daddy gave it to me to give to Mommy on her birthday. I saw it lots of times, so how could I be mistaken? It was really big! But it was different from this one. It was red, not white."
At the mention of a red diamond, Leah's mind reeled. She stared at Jasmine, completely baffled. "W-what did you just say?"

Gosh, this is excruciating ! The slow pace made me leave this for over 3 months. Was just taking a peek and not much development. Btw they have now made this into a 3hr 40 min long drama.Available on daily motion under, the name, next chapter without you. But all the other fringe characters such as York Granger Gaylord are missing in the movie. Ending is very satisfying, practical and apt. She chooses to leave thorne and jasmine and be with Stewart. Vesta and family are inter national wanted Criminals. Not sure if they replicate the same on here. As this book is now on the app for more than 9 months, have a feeling it'll be another 6 to 9 months before this is completed!...

I know its ur story and u obviously have ur own plot line and all and have every right to build the story as u like but what writer provide isnt just entertainment, but they shape the narrative of young minds. So I would say that romanticing cheating is, or rather THORNE'S behaviour, wrong for all the reasons..give york a chance ..that will be way more satisfying...again all of this is just my point of view but if charlene and thorne get back together, its not the story im looking for...
