At the thought, a heavy silence settled over Vesta's heart. Her gaze darkened, and her fingers abruptly tightened their grip on the armrest of her chair, completely erasing her previously good mood.
Charlene couldn't care less what the others thought. After a few intense rounds of bidding, she successfully claimed the traditional painting for well over ten million dollars.
When the auction concluded, the elusive owner behind the auction house made a rare personal appearance to greet Charlene, his attitude incredibly respectful.
Rumor had it that this particular boss was not a simple man, often going a year or two without showing his face at all. The fact that he specifically came out just to make Charlene's acquaintance gave her an immense amount of prestige.
Watching the auction house's owner treat Charlene like VIP royalty naturally left a bitter taste in the mouths of the Hawkins and Spencer families. But it was only a slight sting. After all, they firmly believed their futures would be vastly superior to hers.
So what if they let Charlene show off for a little while today?
Maureen Spencer's expression remained flat. She stood up and said, "Let's head back."
"Alright," Leah Spencer agreed with a tight smile, shooting one last glare at Charlene before leaving with the rest of the Hawkins and Spencer families.
On the drive home from the auction house, Charlene received a call from Jasmine Henderson. Her daughter excitedly informed her that Thorne was free the next day and had agreed to take them both out for dinner.
Charlene listened, gave a soft sound of acknowledgment, and hung up.
The next day, she received a text from Jasmine and left the house right on time.
By the time she arrived at the restaurant, Thorne and Jasmine were already waiting.
Spotting her, Jasmine enthusiastically threw herself into Charlene's arms. Thorne glanced up at her as well. "You're here?"
He poured her a cup of tea and set it in front of her.

Gosh, this is excruciating ! The slow pace made me leave this for over 3 months. Was just taking a peek and not much development. Btw they have now made this into a 3hr 40 min long drama.Available on daily motion under, the name, next chapter without you. But all the other fringe characters such as York Granger Gaylord are missing in the movie. Ending is very satisfying, practical and apt. She chooses to leave thorne and jasmine and be with Stewart. Vesta and family are inter national wanted Criminals. Not sure if they replicate the same on here. As this book is now on the app for more than 9 months, have a feeling it'll be another 6 to 9 months before this is completed!...

I know its ur story and u obviously have ur own plot line and all and have every right to build the story as u like but what writer provide isnt just entertainment, but they shape the narrative of young minds. So I would say that romanticing cheating is, or rather THORNE'S behaviour, wrong for all the reasons..give york a chance ..that will be way more satisfying...again all of this is just my point of view but if charlene and thorne get back together, its not the story im looking for...
