During his conversation with Charlene Ross moments earlier, he'd had a sinking feeling that her rejection wasn't just a fit of pique or a negotiation tactic. Now, Stewart's decisive response confirmed it.
It finally dawned on Leonard that Charlene and Stewart had never entertained the idea of working with them. Not even for a second.
Silence hung on the line for several seconds before Leonard finally spoke. "You and Charlene are truly a united front."
Before making this call, he had genuinely believed there was room for negotiation. He never imagined Stewart would throw away such a lucrative project just to help Charlene vent her frustration.
"You're too kind, Mr. Lancaster," Stewart replied coolly.
Leonard was left speechless.
"I wish you the best of luck in solving your company's crisis. I have other business to attend to. Goodbye."
With that, Stewart hung up without a shred of hesitation.
Corinne Lancaster knew her older brother was contacting Stewart. Shortly after Leonard ended the call, she learned of the disastrous outcome.
Her face twisted with fury, and she shot up from her chair. "If she's mad at me, she should come at me! Why the hell—"
Watching her storm toward the door, Leonard spoke in a flat tone. "I won't stop you from going, but they aren't going to change their minds."
Corinne stopped dead in her tracks, her fists clenched tightly at her sides.
Leonard didn't have the energy to manage her temper anymore. While they had spent the last few days trying to get through to Stewart and Charlene, they had also been scrambling for alternatives. The harsh reality was that there wasn't a single domestic team capable of replacing PrimeStar.

Gosh, this is excruciating ! The slow pace made me leave this for over 3 months. Was just taking a peek and not much development. Btw they have now made this into a 3hr 40 min long drama.Available on daily motion under, the name, next chapter without you. But all the other fringe characters such as York Granger Gaylord are missing in the movie. Ending is very satisfying, practical and apt. She chooses to leave thorne and jasmine and be with Stewart. Vesta and family are inter national wanted Criminals. Not sure if they replicate the same on here. As this book is now on the app for more than 9 months, have a feeling it'll be another 6 to 9 months before this is completed!...
