Unknown Divorce Revelation Beyond Time (Charlene and Thorne) novel Chapter 758

"So that's how it is," Raleigh said, his tone perfectly even. "And Mr. Ferguson? He doesn't care?"

"He just lets her do whatever she wants! Word is that Mr. Ferguson is completely obsessed with his girlfriend—her word is law. So, even though our boss practically begged and tried communicating a dozen times, it was totally useless."

"Is that so?"

Raleigh kept his voice noncommittal, but a cynical smirk tugged at the corner of his mouth. It didn't surprise him in the least. He still kept in touch with a few former colleagues at PrimeStar Technologies, so he knew damn well that the company had long since become Charlene Ross's personal dictatorship.

Meanwhile, across the room.

Leonard Lancaster approached Charlene and Stewart. He offered an introductory smile. "Mr. Ferguson, Director Ross. I'm Leonard Lancaster, the current head of the Lancaster Group. It's a pleasure to finally meet you both."

The warmth drained slightly from Stewart's face, but he accepted the handshake.

Charlene did the same.

"It's a shame we couldn't make our collaboration work this time around," Leonard continued smoothly. "But the future is long. I'm sure there will be plenty of opportunities for us to partner up down the line."

It was an obvious olive branch, signaling his desire to mend fences.

Stewart's tone remained unreadable. "We'll see."

Leonard wasn't foolish enough to expect an immediate change in their attitude, but he was in no rush.

Truthfully, Charlene and Stewart's aversion to Leonard was largely guilt by association. Beyond their mutual distaste for Corinne Lancaster, they worried that any partnership with the Lancaster Group would inevitably invite Corinne's sabotage.

Why take that kind of risk?
