Unknown Divorce Revelation Beyond Time (Charlene and Thorne) novel Chapter 798

At that moment, Leonard Lancaster walked over with someone in tow.

"Mr. Ferguson, Ms. Ross," Leonard said politely. "A friend of mine was hoping to discuss some business with you. Do you have a moment?"

Leonard's friend was a prominent figure in the overseas AI community. Charlene and Stewart excused themselves from Dr. Lucas and shook the man's hand. "Hello."

The man was also a client of The Lancaster Group, which meant Corinne Lancaster had to tag along. Though she stood dutifully beside Leonard, she didn't say a word. Instead, she stared at Charlene with a mocking smirk, making no effort to hide her utter disdain.

Charlene ignored her entirely.

Earlier, when Charlene, Stewart, Thorne, and Dr. Lucas were talking, Gaylord Hearst had stayed out of the conversation. Now, seeing Charlene and Stewart free, he noticed her glass was nearly empty. Despite Corinne's glaring presence, he beckoned a waiter, grabbed Charlene's favorite drink, and handed it to her, gesturing for her empty glass.

Charlene paused. "Thank you."

Gaylord offered a gentle smile and placed her empty glass on the waiter's tray without a word.

Corinne watched the exchange, her gaze locking onto Gaylord. He noticed her staring but ignored her, keeping his focus entirely on Charlene.

Corinne closed the distance between them, stopping just a few steps away from where Charlene was chatting. She sneered, "Stringing Stewart along while keeping you on a tight leash. You have to admit, she's got some serious tricks up her sleeve."

Gaylord shot her a cold look. "Are you done?"

The more he worked with Charlene, the more he understood her, and the more she continued to surprise him. How could he not know what he was doing? How could he not know exactly the kind of woman he had fallen for?

He might not know all the details of her feud with Vesta or her past, but he knew who she was now.

Corinne had expected her words to trigger some soul-searching, or at least a flicker of doubt.

Instead, Gaylord's gaze remained incredibly resolute.

Corinne scoffed in disbelief. "What kind of spell did she cast on you?"
