Unknown Divorce Revelation Beyond Time (Charlene and Thorne) novel Chapter 811

Vesta knew she couldn't let this escalate any further.

Forcing a smile, she immediately spoke up. "Mr. Ferguson, I—"

However, just as she started, Corinne cut in. "Isn't it true?"

Corinne crossed her arms, looking at Stewart and Charlene with clear disdain. Her tone was nowhere near as polite as Raleigh's. "Mr. Ferguson, if you have the guts to do it, why don't you have the guts to admit it? If you confessed, I might actually consider you—"

Vesta hadn't expected Corinne to suddenly chime in. Her expression changed, and she quickly interrupted, "Corinne!"

After silencing her friend, Vesta looked at Stewart, ready to explain, but Stewart had no intention of giving her the floor.

He looked at Corinne with a half-smile. "Ms. Lancaster, isn't it? If my memory serves me right, you and Ms. Hawkins are very close friends. I suppose it makes sense why, shortly after returning to the country, you stormed into PrimeStar to humiliate and toy with our Charlene just to vent your friend's frustrations."

"You two certainly share a deep bond."

Without giving Corinne a chance to reply, he shifted his gaze to Vesta. "Ms. Hawkins, one is your senior, the other is your best friend. Both of them are fiercely demanding justice on your behalf. I imagine you must have complained to them quite a bit about failing to become my junior, haven't you?"

Vesta knew that the moment Corinne opened her mouth, this situation had become unsalvageable.

But she wasn't going to just sit there and take it. "No, Mr. Ferguson—"

Stewart wasn't about to let her spin the narrative.

He laughed softly. "My mentor rarely converses with his students, so there are a lot of things about him I don't know. But, coincidentally, I do know a bit about your attempt to become his student. Would you like to know how he evaluated you?"

Vesta's hand trembled slightly around her wine glass.
