Never in his wildest dreams had Raleigh imagined that CUAP was Charlene's masterpiece.

The shock rattling his brain refused to fade, and a suffocating wave of despair settled heavily in his chest. It took him a long time to find his voice.

He looked at Stewart, his throat dry. "You bringing this up out of nowhere... is this your way of telling me she got into PrimeStar based on her own overwhelming merit, and not... through nepotism like I accused her of?"

The murmurs in the crowd died down as soon as he spoke.

"Of course not," Stewart sneered. "Didn't you just ask if Ms. Hawkins failing to join PrimeStar, failing to become my mentor's student, and failing to secure Dr. Lucas's tutelage tonight was all part of Charlene's grand revenge plot?"

"I don't know the specifics of her trying to become Dr. Lucas's student tonight. After all, Charlene and I were just as surprised as everyone else when Dr. Lucas announced he wanted to mentor her."

"As for the other two instances—"

He paused, letting the silence stretch deliberately.

He cast a glance over at Raleigh and Vesta, then turned to face the rest of the room with a sharp smirk. "I assume everyone here is aware that PrimeStar Technologies... has two founders, correct?"

The moment the words left his mouth, the entire room connected the dots.

Raleigh and Dalton stared at Stewart, their eyes practically bulging out of their heads in sheer disbelief.

"That... how is that even possible?"

Kelvin Scott looked like he was about to pass out. "Holy... shit..."

Maureen's head jerked up, her eyes wide with a terror that eclipsed everyone else's. She didn't even notice her champagne glass slipping from her fingers and shattering on the carpet.

Henley was equally horrified, staring in absolute dread.

Leah and Rhoda mirrored their devastation.

Leah's mind flatlined. She stared at Charlene like a ghost, mumbling in agonizing denial, "No... that's impossible..."

He genuinely couldn't process it.

He had known Stewart and Charlene weren't romantically involved like the rumors suggested, but he had assumed Stewart handed her so much authority simply because they were close friends and she was exceptionally talented.

Amidst the sea of stunned faces, Stewart spoke up again, aiming his words squarely at Raleigh. "PrimeStar is Charlene's company. As the owner, she has every right to deny employment to anyone she pleases. How on earth does that count as revenge?"

The crowd finally began snapping out of their collective trance.

"Exactly. That Hawkins woman and her family destroyed Charlene's life and tried to wreck her marriage. Any sane person would ban her from their company! She's not an idiot."
