Elara rolled her eyes internally. Weren't you just talking about helping me take down Julian and helping me get a divorce? Why are you suddenly worried about affecting our relationship?
Elara mocked him inwardly, though she didn't doubt the sincerity of his words.
"It's fine," Elara waved it off nonchalantly. "As long as it's explained, there's no problem."
She set her phone down and looked at him. "I ordered two more dishes. We'll leave when they're ready."
Sebastian froze. He subconsciously glanced at the leftovers on the table, then back at her, his eyes full of confusion.
"You can't actually eat spicy food, can you?" Elara asked directly.
Sebastian blinked, a flicker of guilty panic briefly showing in his dark eyes.
Knowing she had guessed right, Elara felt a little annoyed that he hadn't been honest, yet also found his childish stubbornness somewhat amusing. "Why did you feel the need to hide something like that?"
Sebastian replied, "You made this restaurant sound so good, I wanted to give it a try."
"That doesn't mean you have to force yourself to eat something you can't handle."
Sebastian looked away in embarrassment.
Knowing he was in the wrong, Sebastian didn't try to defend himself and offered a swift apology. "I'm sorry. It won't happen again."
Elara accepted his apology and nodded seriously. "From now on, when I ask what you like or if you have any dietary restrictions, you need to tell me the truth."
"Okay."
Sebastian agreed instantly.
"I asked the waitress to pack those two dishes to go. Take them back to work and make sure you eat them properly. No going hungry," Elara instructed him.
Sebastian froze. The dark clouds in his mind instantly parted to reveal a bright, sunny sky. He felt as if countless little angels were floating in the air, scattering flower petals. He felt so light he almost wanted to join them in tossing petals to celebrate.
Stepping out of the private room to give Elara space for her call was absolutely the right move.
