Even though the text was just words on a screen, Julian could clearly picture Sebastian standing there with a cold, mocking smirk on his face.

Julian paused mid-stride, one foot out the door of his office, as a sudden, chilling sense of dread washed over him. He instinctively glanced around.

How did Sebastian know?

Then again, considering how close he was to Elara and his ties to Maddox Beckett, it wasn't all that surprising that word had reached him.

But if he treated Elara like an older sister, wasn't his reaction to the divorce a little too apathetic?

Julian quickly brushed the thought aside. Even if Sebastian wasn't apathetic, what could he possibly do?

The divorce was strictly between him and Elara. An outsider couldn't physically force them to stay married.

And technically, Sebastian was a junior in the family hierarchy. If Grandpa Beckett hadn't personally intervened, what power did Sebastian have?

Rationalizing it away, Julian stepped out of the office and replied: [Yes.]

He saw no reason to hide it, nor did he feel an ounce of shame.

He had fallen in love with someone else and filed for divorce. Bringing Vivian along was perfectly logical. What was there to be embarrassed about?

He even confidently added: [I'll formally introduce you two tomorrow.]

Once they were married, Vivian would technically be Sebastian's aunt-in-law anyway. He would have to meet her eventually, so this was the perfect opportunity to make the introductions.

Just as Julian anticipated, Sebastian showed no signs of displeasure, coolly accepting the gesture: [Sounds good.]

Julian smirked in satisfaction.

Closing Sebastian's chat, he messaged Vivian, telling her about the sudden change in their itinerary and instructing her to pack for a flight that night.

They were pressed for time, so they grabbed a quick bite at the airport, planning to order a proper meal once they checked into the hotel.
