Vivian's smile was tight and distinctly uncomfortable, yet she was desperately trying to ingratiate herself with her future relative, doing everything in her power to appear gentle and likable.

Sebastian wasn't charmed in the slightest. The lazy, superficial smile vanished from his face as he shot her a frigid glance and turned his head away.

The elevator chimed and the doors slid open.

Julian stepped in first, with Vivian hot on his heels.

Sebastian didn't move an inch.

Julian looked back, confused. "Are you coming?"

"Yeah."

Sebastian answered flatly, offering no excuse and making no move to leave, yet it was glaringly obvious he had zero intention of sharing the same confined space with them.

Julian's pride stung at the blatant disrespect, but he knew exactly why Sebastian was behaving this way.

If he picked a fight now and provoked this temperamental heir into throwing a tantrum, it would ruin his chances with the French CEO.

"See you tonight, then."

Dropping the pleasantries, Julian hit the button to close the doors. "See ya."

Sebastian ignored him, and Julian was too tired to care.

As the doors shut and the floor numbers began ticking upward, the revolving doors of the hotel spun, and Finnian strode into the lobby, looking like he'd been up all night.

"Boss."

Spotting Sebastian waiting by the elevators, he hurried over and lowered his voice. "I've got the police dispatch logs, their interrogation transcripts, and the hotel surveillance footage."

Sebastian tilted his head and gave a nearly imperceptible nod.

Unsure if the nod meant he was dismissed or if he needed to act, Finnian asked, "Do you need me to compile all of this?"

"Yeah."

Sebastian paused before adding, "Digitize everything."

Finnian understood immediately.

This was a care package of evidence being prepped for Elara.

"Got it. I'll have it sent to your room once it's done."

Another elevator arrived and chimed open.
