The young owner immediately dropped any further attempts to make small talk or pry. Shooting Sebastian a mildly reproachful look, he bowed politely. "I apologize for the intrusion. To make up for it, we'd love to offer the little miss a complimentary serving of our Truffle Shrimp Custard."

"Enjoy your meal."

Once the food was set, the young owner led his staff out of the room.

The heavy door clicked shut, completely sealing off the ambient restaurant noise and leaving the private room feeling as cozy and quiet as a home dining room.

Elara ladled a small bowl of broth for Melody and placed a few tender pieces of chicken breast onto her plate.

The soup was still steaming, so Melody picked up a piece of chicken with her fork, blowing on it gently. Once she was sure it wouldn't burn her tongue, she took a happy bite.

"Mommy, the chicken is so yummy!"

After just one bite, Melody couldn't wait to share her discovery.

She clumsily maneuvered her fork, trying to transfer a piece to Elara's plate, but the restaurant's heavy silverware was harder to manage than her kid-friendly utensils at home. She couldn't keep her grip steady.

Seeing her struggle, Elara smiled warmly and used her own fork to secure the meat. "Is this for me?"

Melody nodded enthusiastically, setting her fork down and nudging Elara's hand. "Mommy, eat!"

"Alright, thank you for sharing your delicious food, baby."

With her cheeks full of chicken, Melody flashed a brilliant, syrupy-sweet smile. "You're welcome!" she chimed in a sing-song voice.

Elara had barely taken a bite when Sebastian eagerly leaned forward from across the table. "Well? How is it?"

Elara nodded in approval. "It's wonderful. The broth is incredibly rich, but the meat is surprisingly tender."

Her curiosity was piqued. "How do they manage that?"

Sebastian only knew the food tasted good; he had zero clue about culinary techniques. "I'll text the owner and ask."

"Hey, wait, wait!"
