Getting into her car, Elara had just buckled her seatbelt when an unknown number flashed across her screen.

Glancing at it, she recognized it was a local number. Assuming it was an unmarked delivery courier, she freed one hand and answered it.

"Hello."

The seatbelt clicked securely into place with a soft *snap*.

The caller's voice spilled through the speaker in tandem with the sound.

"Is this Elara Sterling?"

It was a chillingly calm, rational tone that sounded almost like a customer service rep.

It took Elara a split second to realize exactly who was on the other end of the line.

With her seatbelt fastened, she slowly lowered her hand and gripped the steering wheel with both palms, yet she made no move to put the car in drive.

She had received the text from the court less than half an hour ago, and Vivian had already called.

It was significantly faster than she had anticipated.

Elara remained silent, but Vivian couldn't hold back any longer and took the initiative. "You're the one suing me?"

It seemed she had received the notice from the court as well.

Elara removed one hand from the wheel, grabbed her phone, and switched over to her text messages while casually replying, "That's right. I take it you've received The Court Summons?"

Vivian seemed taken aback by her infuriatingly calm demeanor. It took her a long moment before she forced out slowly, "Yes. Sent directly to my company!"

Elara stated smoothly, "Well, I didn't exactly have your home address, so I had to send it to your office."

Vivian: "..."

Elara added with a leisurely drawl, "Oh, right. I addressed it to The Executive Secretariat. Julian practically lives in his own office, so he probably doesn't know yet, right?"

"..."
