Sebastian was endlessly patient. Whatever Melody said, he responded thoughtfully, gently bringing up any logistical issues or concerns.

Elara didn't interrupt their serious planning session. Knowing they might forget the details, she grabbed her laptop and acted as their designated secretary, typing out every item they agreed upon.

They chatted for over half an hour.

"Wow, Mommy's phone is dying!"

A low battery warning popped up on the screen, prompting a dramatic gasp from the little girl.

As soon as she spoke, Elara walked over with a charger, plugging it in before grabbing a phone stand.

"The phone will overheat if you hold it while it charges during a video call. Let's put it on the stand."

Melody obediently handed it over. Elara set it up on the desk, and Melody climbed into a chair, resting her chin on her hands as she continued talking to Sebastian on the screen.

Sebastian fell silent for a moment.

Had she always been this talkative?

He had never been the type to easily win over children, let alone spend this much uninterrupted time with one. A thirty-minute video call was absolutely shattering his personal record.

Seeing her endless enthusiasm, he was actually starting to feel a little out of his depth, unsure if he could keep up this level of engagement.

The last thing he wanted was to accidentally scare her off.

Fortunately, Elara had been keeping a close eye on them and noticed his subtle hesitation.

She glanced into the camera, looking slightly surprised, and softly probed, "Do you two have anything else to add to the itinerary?"

He didn't speak, simply watching the mother and daughter on the screen, letting Melody take the lead before he added any final thoughts.

The question successfully stumped the little girl.

She cupped her cheeks, resting her elbows on the desk, and tilted her head in deep concentration. "I don't think so."

She had talked about so many things with Sebastian. Had they missed something?

She couldn't think of a single detail.

Whatever, they could always figure it out later.
