Elara wasn't the least bit surprised. She smiled gratefully. "Thank you. If it weren't for your help, I'd be running in circles for god knows how long."

She had texted Sarah after nine o'clock last night, and it had barely been twelve hours since then. Pulling up this much information so quickly was something Elara couldn't have managed on her own with her current resources.

Sarah waved it off. "It was nothing. Besides, what I found is just scratching the surface. It's enough for us to connect the dots, but as hard evidence, it's nowhere near enough."

"I know."

Elara closed the folder. "But it's still a breakthrough."

The moment she confirmed Julian's affair, she had prepared herself for divorce.

But she never expected that Julian—the one at fault—would actually dare to scheme for custody of Melody.

And after last night, Elara realized that Julian wasn't just coming for custody; he was actively setting up traps to hide his assets.

Every single move he made sank lower than she thought possible, thoroughly shattering whatever illusion she had left of the man.

If she hadn't seen those contracts, she never would have believed that the man she had known for over a decade, loved for eleven years, and thought she completely understood, could be so ruthlessly calculating.

When Julian came home last night, she had only tested him with the idea of him leaving with nothing.

And this morning, Julian had been so eager to lay the groundwork, using the excuse of the company being in trouble to pave the way for his asset transfers...

"I've also asked around to dig into the social networks of these individuals. It'll take a few days to get results," Sarah added.

"If my guess is right, these people have zero real connection to Julian. He either borrowed the IDs from some distant relatives or bought them off the black market to act as the legal fall guys."

As lawyers, they had seen this exact playbook countless times. The moment they saw the backgrounds of the company and its legal representative, they already knew what was really going on.

"So, what's your next move?" Sarah asked with a hint of concern.

"Keep gathering evidence to secure the assets."

Elara neatly organized the documents and met Sarah's gaze. "And then, his company..."

She didn't finish the sentence, but after years of mutual understanding, Sarah immediately caught on. She nodded. "The divorce proceedings can wait. He's the one who'll be desperate to speed things up eventually. But putting a stop to his asset shuffling needs to happen as soon as possible."

Elara almost blurted out her home address, but the words caught in her throat. She quickly corrected herself. "To Ark Solutions."

Julian had a meeting that morning. When Elara arrived, it was still ongoing. A junior assistant ushered her into his office, poured her a cup of tea, and quietly excused herself to get back to work.

Elara sat on the sofa for a while. Feeling restless, she took her teacup and began wandering around the office, inspecting every corner.

Half an hour later, the meeting finally wrapped up.

Julian returned. The moment he pushed open his office door, he saw Elara holding a teacup, closely inspecting a small figurine displayed in his bookcase.

It was the Limited Edition Collectible Vivian had placed there.

"Elara?"

Julian's heart leaped into his throat. He strode over quickly and shut the glass cabinet door. "I thought you went home?"

Elara gave him a thoughtful look, glancing between him and the cabinet. "You mentioned this morning that the company was in trouble. I couldn't stop worrying, so I decided to come see for myself."
