Vivian crept forward on her tiptoes. The second Julian kicked off his shoes and stood up, she launched herself straight into his arms.
Feigning surprise, Julian immediately opened his arms, easily catching her soft, fragrant body against his chest.
"Oh, no!"
The instant his arms opened in preparation, Vivian knew she'd been caught. She let out a dramatic, playful gasp, melting into his embrace. Looping her right arm languidly around his neck, she pouted, "How did you know I was there?"
Julian captured her lips in a deep, punishing kiss, lightly biting her lower lip before pulling back. "Your knee hasn't healed yet. Why are you running around without your slippers?"
Left breathless by his dominant kiss, Vivian rested her head against his shoulder to recover. "The floor isn't slippery."
Julian gently pinched her cheek. "Slippery or not, you shouldn't be taking risks. Did you forget you're a patient right now?"
Vivian beamed up at him, leaning in for another kiss. "Is that really all you want to say to me right now?"
Her slender index finger traced his strong jawline, dragging slowly over his Adam's apple before pressing flat against his chest. With deft movements, her fingertips popped open the buttons of his dress shirt, slipping inside to trace the hard muscle beneath.
"When you texted me this morning, didn't you say you missed me?"
She leaned close to his ear, her hot breath fanning across his skin like a feather grazing his senses. Feeling his body instantly tense with desire, she let out a low, throaty chuckle and purred.
"Or was that all a lie?"
Julian's gaze turned dark and predatory. Without a word, he hoisted Vivian up effortlessly, shifting her posture until she was straddling him. His thick, powerful arms banded tightly around her waist, crushing her hips flush against his own.
Whether he was lying or not was something she was about to find out firsthand.
In such an intimate, seamless embrace, every surge of heat and shift in physical arousal was transferred instantly between them.
Vivian's eyes misted over with intoxicating pleasure as she went entirely pliant against his chest.
Julian's large hand slipped beneath the hem of her nightgown. His lips brushed her ear as he asked with deliberate arrogance, "Still think I'm lying?"
Vivian let out a soft, breathless moan, stubbornly refusing to yield. "I'm not sure yet."
Vivian adored his cooking and constantly whined playfully, begging him to make her personal meals.
"Alright."
Vivian casually draped his suit jacket over her shoulders and tried to pad after him barefoot, only to be stopped firmly by Julian, who dropped a pair of slippers at her feet.
"Put your shoes on."
Vivian pouted, clearly displeased, but obediently slid her feet into the slippers anyway.
After dinner, completely sated, the two of them didn't even make it out of the dining room before gravitating toward each other like magnets, locking together in yet another passionate embrace.
By the time they finally finished showering, it was already well past nine o'clock.
Forgotten in the corner of the room, his phone screen had lit up several times before fading back to black.
There were only fifteen minutes left until Melody's nine-thirty bedtime.
