The gaze of a thousand people simultaneously fell upon Mu Qingge.
Yet, she seemed utterly oblivious, walking forward along the empty path in the middle. Xuan Ya had already retreated behind her, flanking her alongside Mo Yang.
The ten Dragon Tooth Guards that Mo Yang brought followed behind them. The last six stood on either side at the entrance of the hall, dignified and imposing.
The remaining four accompanied Mu Qingge to the forefront of the grand hall. Mu Qingge ascended the steps; nine steps representing the status of the Nine Heavens. Above those nine steps was placed a meticulously carved, exceedingly comfortable and luxurious chair.
Standing atop the steps, Mu Qingge was flanked below by Mo Yang and Xuan Ya, while the four Dragon Tooth Guards aligned side by side beneath the steps, exuding power and majesty.
Inside the grand hall, a thousand stood divided to the left and right.
And at the forefront on each side stood the High Priest and Xu Xiu.
Once, they were the Tian Lu of the Mu Clan, and they remain so now, unchanged into the future.
With hands behind her back, Mu Qingge slowly turned, meeting the gazes fixed upon her. In those eyes, there was admiration from her direct lineage troops. The ones filled with doubt, curiosity, and probing belonged to the remnants of the Mu Clan left on the Divine Demon Continent.
Among them were both men and women, though men predominated. Among them were Mu Shan and Mu Lin, whom Mu Qingge had met several times before.
Unlike other remnants of the Mu Clan, their gaze toward Mu Qingge held more fervor.
Perhaps, after numerous experiences, they also acknowledged Mu Qingge’s identity as the Mu Clan Young Master.
In truth, Mu Qingge was not worried about them not recognizing her as Young Master, for now the Mu Clan only has her as the Young Master, recognition wasn’t optional.
Moreover, she claimed the position by adhering to the ancestral words of the Mu Ancestor, following the rules. No one can oppose her!
However, that doesn’t mean problems don’t exist.
The problem she needed to solve was Xu Xiu ceding power.
Mu Qingge’s gaze slowly moved and settled on Xu Xiu.
Feeling her gaze, Xu Xiu stepped forward, turning to face everyone in the hall. He was Tian Lu, the practical leader of the Mu Clan on the Divine Demon Continent for millennia.
As he stepped forward, he gently touched the scepter to the ground, and those who had been looking at Mu Qingge restrained their gaze, lowering their eyes to listen to what he would say.
Such authority did not escape Mu Qingge’s notice, her gaze turning cold.
This reflexive action was not a good sign.
Since her arrival, in a short span, Mu Qingge had already discerned the expressions and thoughts of everyone in the hall.
To her, disobedient subordinates were utterly unacceptable.
She was no saint, lacking the time to reform them, to guide them through a change. If these remnants of the Mu Clan couldn’t clearly recognize who their master truly was, then cutting off this disobedient arm was better than letting chaos ensue in critical moments.
"Everyone, it’s been ten thousand years. We have waited ten thousand years. Do you still remember the Young Master dispute declared by our Clan Leader, our leader, before his fall?" Xu Xiu spoke.
"Remember! Remember!"
"Remember!"
"We remember!"
In the hall, aside from the Dragon Tooth Guards, those belonging to Mu Qingge, the others erupted fervently.
