The vibrant nightlife made Mu Qingge feel an illusion upon first sight, as if she had returned to a past life, a world where day and night were indistinguishable.
A shadow smoothly avoided the slightly tipsy crowd and swiftly dashed into a large, tightly closed courtyard.
In the courtyard stood five hundred men in neat rows, each cloaked in black, concealing their forms and even their breaths. They faced a room lit by the faint glow of candles, with a breathtaking silhouette reflected on the window lattice, seemingly drinking alone under the moon.
The person who entered moved through the wall of people without hindrance, came to the front of the room, kneeled on one knee, right hand clenched into a fist touching the ground, and said in a deep voice, "My Lord, the subordinate has returned."
"Enter," a faint voice floated over, carrying a hint of coldness, yet with a touch of nonchalance and detachment.
The door opened, and the kneeling Dragon Tooth Guard glanced up, rose immediately, and entered the room. Soon after, the door closed, and the Dragon Tooth Guards outside remained as still as statues, unaffected in the slightest.
Inside, the room was simply furnished, not much different from an ordinary Tu Country household.
There were two people in the room, one in red, the other in black, one seated, one standing. The candlelight illuminated Mu Qingge’s exquisite and stunning face, obscure and inscrutable, with a glaze-like hue, dreamlike and ethereal.
The face, so exquisitely flawless, defied all descriptions that ink and pen could offer.
Even though it wasn’t the first time seeing it, the entering Dragon Tooth Guard still found his mind momentarily dazed before this visage of profound beauty.
Luckily, it was only a moment before he regained his composure, kneeling before Mu Qingge, who toyed with a wine cup in her hands. "My Lord."
"Hm." Mu Qingge replied with a nasal sound, downing the amber liquid with its intense alcoholic scent in one go. The fiery, spicy sensation instantly seared her throat, bringing a faint blush to her fair, crystal-clear cheeks, adding a hint of charm to her heroic aura.
"Damn! Tu Country’s wine is fucking strong!"
