Ava took a brief look around the area before turning her attention to Keith. “Good afternoon, Professor Holcomb.”

Keith paused for a moment, visibly caught off guard. After quickly regaining his composure/he studied Ava’s expression and asked, “Is that title something you enjoy using for me that much?”

“You are, after all, the professor for my elective course.”

Keith gave a slight, restrained smile and chose not to comment further on how she addressed him.

Worried about being seen with him, Ava hurriedly stepped aside and said, “You go in front.”

Keith moved to walk beside her instead. “Didn’t you already call me Professor Holcomb? Are you really that timid?”

Ava shot him a quick glance. “You’re extremely well-known on campus. I’d rather not draw unnecessary

attention.”

Keith didn’t push the matter. He moved slightly ahead and added, “I have a class later today. Would you like to wait in my office around noon?”

“I still have to meet Mr. Jones,” she replied.

“Theodore?” Keith raised a brow.

“Yes,” Ava confirmed with a nod. “He asked me to come to his office after lunch.”

Keith rested a hand lightly near his chin before responding, “Alright, I’ll accompany you there.”

They made their way toward Theodore’s office with Keith leading and Ava following at a modest distance between them.

Unlike the other faculty offices in the Agriculture Department, Theodore’s workspace was located inside a small house near the experimental fields.

Ava climbed to the second floor, stopped in front of the door, and knocked gently.

“Come in,” a voice responded from inside.

She turned the handle and stepped into the doorway, with Keith right behind her.

Theodore first looked at Ava, then shifted his attention to the man standing just behind her.

Keith entered fully and closed the door behind them.

“Both of you, please sit,” Theodore said.

Ava immediately chose a seat, holding her bag tightly against her chest as she sat upright in a very composed and careful posture.

Keith introduced himself, “Good afternoon, Mr. Jones. I’m Keith Holcomb, Ava’s match.”

Theodore was already somewhat aware of Ava’s personal circumstances; Dylan and his wife had briefly mentioned it during a previous visit.

He shook Keith’s hand. “I’m Theodore Jones. Please, take a seat as well.”

Keith settled onto the couch, deliberately leaving some space between himself and Ava.

Theodore picked up several documents from his desk. “This is the customized study plan I’ve prepared for you. Review it first. Later, I’ll take you for a mental power assessment. Since you’ve already awakened elemental power, you should also possess mental power. We’ll confirm it first, then I’ll adjust your training accordingly.”

Ava accepted the papers carefully with both hands. “Thank you, Mr. Jones.”

She immediately lowered her head and began reading. After going through everything thoroughly, she looked up and asked, “Mr. Jones, am I really going to awaken my mental power?”

“Elemental power and mental power are interconnected; they reinforce each other. It’s not possible to manifest one without the other. You’ve already shown the ability to accelerate plant growth and even have a companion plant, so your mental power is likely quite significant,” Theodore explained.

While speaking, he turned his gaze toward Keith. “You should join us as well.”

Everything had already been arranged. Theodore then led them to the mental assessment facility-a high- cost mental power testing and training center built by Starry Heavens University.

Ava hadn’t expected Principal Callum Mosse to be present at that time. As soon as he spotted Theodore, he quickly approached, then noticed Ava and greeted her with an enthusiastic smile.

A moment later, his attention shifted to the man behind her, and surprise appeared on his face. “Professor Holcomb? What brings you here?”

The university had gone through great effort to secure Keith’s involvement. They had not expected success that year, so his eventual agreement had been a major surprise for Callum.

Keith lightly ruffled Ava’s hair before responding to Callum, “I came here with Ava. I hope I’m not disrupting anything, Mr. Mosse.”

Callum immediately realized their relationship was not ordinary and quickly waved his hands. “Not at all. Professor Holcomb, please feel comfortable here.”

Ava stepped into the testing room, her heartbeat noticeably fast.

Noticing her nervousness, Theodore spoke gently, “Relax, Ava. The procedure is harmless. Try to think of something else.”
