Tylissa remained rooted in place, determined to see Ava play until the very last note.

The piece Ava performed on the lute was titled “Midsummer Nocturne.” When Tylissa had first noticed the name on the program, it hadn’t caught her attention at all.
It was true that Ava being able to play the lute had taken her by surprise.
However, “Midsummer Nocturne” was a widely recognized composition. The more famous a piece, the stricter the expectations placed on its performer. Without exceptional, near–masterful ability, it was almost impossible to leave a lasting impression with something so well known.
Her gaze never left Ava.
Seated quietly with the lute resting against her, Ava continued playing in a calm, unhurried manner.
No one could deny Ava’s beauty. Yet at that moment, with the instrument cradled in her arms, she became utterly mesmerizing.
She was like a still lake under night wind–calm, glowing faintly, yet impossible to look away from. The audience was completely entranced, so silent it felt as if even a breath might shatter the moment.
Deep down, Tylissa was forced to admit it.
Whether in terms of technical skill or the completeness of the performance, Ava had already outdone her earlier zither piece. Precisely because she understood this so clearly, she found it unbearable to accept.
She couldn’t even explain why she continued standing there, subjecting herself to the torment of watching Ava perform.
fet somehow, she couldn’t bring herself to walk away.
Gradually, “Midsummer Nocturne” drew to a close, the final note lingering before dissolving into silence. Ava rose to her feet, lute n hand, gave a graceful bow, and stepped off the stage.
A heavy stillness blanketed the venue, It was as if the audience had yet to recover from the sensory feast they had just experienced.
Then, at some unknown cue, applause began, spreading until the entire hall erupted into thunderous clapping
As soon as Ava exited backstage, Naomi and Zoey rushed forward and hugged her tightly.
“Ava, that was unbelievably beautiful!”
“I’m serious–that’s the finest rendition of “Midsummer Nocturne” I’ve ever heard!”
Naomi lifted her head from Ava’s shoulder, her eyes gleaming “Ava, listen I’ve got a few brothers, and they’re honestly pretty great. Think about it. I can introduce you. You can choose whichever one you like!”
Zoey immediately pulled Naomi aside, planting one hand on her hip while pointing at her with the other, looking ready to explode “Naomi! What are you doing? Ava sees you as a friend, and you’re already trying to rope her into becoming your sister in law?
“No way! Any guy who even thinks about getting close to Ava is going through me first! None of them are worthy of her!”
“Come on, Zoey,” Ava said with a faint smile “Naomi’s only joking”

Naomi shook her head vigorously. “I’m not joking at all! Ava, how about I show you some photos first?”
That genuinely startted Ava. She quickly waved both hands in refusal. “No, no–please don’t! I’m not interested!”

Standing nearby, Noelle couldn’t help but laugh. Draping an arm over Naomi’s shoulders, she said, “Naomi, give it a rest. Aval already has someone. I didn’t get a clear look at him before, but from what I saw, they suit each other pretty well. So, stop playing matchmaker.”
Naomi let out a disappointed sigh. “What a pity… but it makes sense. Someone as stunning and talented as Ava would naturally have plenty of admirers–unless a guy’s blind.”
Ava looked at her and replied, “Naomi, if you really have suitable candidates, you can introduce them to Zoey and Noelle instead. They’re both single too.”
Zoey immediately waved her hands as if fending something off. “No thanks. If it’s not someone I genuinely like, it’s not happening.”
Noelle added, “I’d rather enjoy myself a bit longer. I’m not in a hurry to think about relationships yet.”
