Unwilling Bride: The 1V5 Love Drama novel Chapter 364

Chapter 364 A Question About His Future Partner

Malory: How did the Match Bureau end up assigning you five matches at the same time? From what I know, most people only get two or three at most.

Zoey: The Match Bureau? Ava, so your matches came from there? I thought yours was an arranged family alliance!

Noelle: Are Match Bureau pairings really trustworthy?

Naomi: It does sound a bit unexpected, but the Match Bureau has a solid track record. When the compatibility rating is high, it can actually be more dependable than choosing on your own.

After lunch, Ava headed straight back to the library and continued working through her assignments without stopping.

By around 4:20 p.m., she finally wrapped everything up. She leaned back, took a sip of water, stretched her arms, and exhaled in relief.

She unlocked her Holoband, skimmed through her notifications, and began replying to messages one after another.

Ryan had sent her a picture of a tiny kitten, mentioning that he had already moved some of his personal belongings to her new place and even chosen a room on the third floor.

Ava paused on the kitten photo for a moment, and her heart softened instantly at how ridiculously adorable it was, wondering how the little kitten could possibly look that cute.

Scrolling further, she came across a work-related photo Mason had sent a little after two in the afternoon.

She typed a quick reply. “I just finished my assignments. Are you still at the office?”

Not expecting a response right away, she started organizing her things and prepared to head out.

Just then, her Holoband buzzed with an incoming message. After packing up, she slung her bag over her shoulder and opened it while walking.

Mason: I’m still at the office. Are you coming over?

Since she hadn’t made any solid plans yet, she figured there was no harm in going.

Ava: Yeah. I’ll take the Astralis Line. It’s only a few stops from here, so I’ll be there quickly.

Mason: I’ll wait for you.

About ten minutes later, the train arrived. Ava got off in a hurry.

Stepping out of the station, she scanned the surrounding skyline. The nearby towers all shared a similar design, with only their names distinguishing them-each one named after a zodiac sign.

Mason’s company was located in the Pisces building. After asking for directions, she found it easily, entered the lobby, and took the elevator up to the 26th floor. When the doors slid open, he was already standing right there waiting.

She blinked in slight surprise. Walking out, she asked, “You’ve been waiting here the whole time?”

“No one else is in the office today. If I didn’t come down, you wouldn’t be able to get in,” he explained casually as he took her bag and naturally interlaced his fingers with hers. “Let’s go.”

“All of this floor belongs to your company?” Ava asked while looking around.

“Both the 25th and 26th floors,” Mason replied, unlocking the door to his office.

Ava looked at him with clear admiration. “That’s amazing. You’re so young and already running such a big company.”

He didn’t respond much, only glancing at her. “Do you want anything to drink?”

Her eyes swept across the room. The office had a clean, mostly gray design. His desk sat right beside a large window, making it easy to stand there and take a break while looking outside.

“Just water is fine,” she said.

She walked over to the window while speaking, gazing at the distant river. Turning back, she added, “The view from here is really nice.”

Mason returned with a cup of warm water. “I still have some work left. Make yourself comfortable for a while.”

Ava accepted the cup but didn’t drink yet, holding it between both hands. “Alright, go ahead.”

She then wandered around his office and noticed a business magazine on a shelf. The cover featured his photo prominently.

Curious, she pulled it out.

Judging from the date, it was published last winter. She flipped through it casually and quickly found his

interview section.

The questions were formal, and his responses were equally restrained. The whole piece felt stiff and a bit dull compared to entertainment articles.

When she reached the final page, she saw a question about his future partner.

Mason’s reply read, “I don’t have a specific type, and I don’t intend to marry early. My focus right now is work. As for my future wife, I don’t have many expectations-just someone who looks decent and isn’t overly dependent. You’re asking this a bit too soon. Maybe come back in a few decades.”
