Chapter 47 Choosing a Room

Mason turned to look at her. “Which room do you like? I can have someone redo it.”

“Ah.” Ava waved her hands right away. “No, no, I live just fine at the Morren Residence. You don’t need to change anything for me.”

“Ava, you just said you’d try to accept me. If you ever stay out overnight, I need to keep a room for you. If you want, I’d be honored to give you my bedroom.”

Ava hadn’t thought that far. She still sounded a little naive. “If I go out, I can still go back to the Morren Residence. If I don’t go home, my family will worry.”

Mason glanced at her. Her clear eyes were open and honest. That made him seem like the one with hidden

motives.

“Ava, you’re twenty–five. You’re an adult, and you’re in a stable relationship. The Morren family won’t interfere that much. A normal couple dates. Staying out overnight once in a while is normal. As long as you tell them ahead of time, they won’t worry.”

The second floor was his master bedroom. She never even considered it. If she had to choose, she chose the third floor.

When Mason heard her answer, he sighed to himself and thought it was exactly what he’d expected. It didn’t matter. He could give in to her. He already had a plan in mind/He smiled and said, “Then I’ll hire a designer. You can tell them what you want and talk it through.”

Ava frowned. “Isn’t that too much trouble? Maybe we should forget it. I live well at the Morren Residence. If it gets too late, I can just stay at a hotel.”

“How is that trouble? It’s my honor, my lady of the house.”

He had lived here alone before, so he hadn’t needed many rooms. Any rooms that could be combined had been opened up. Now things were different. He had a wife. This house was about to welcome its lady. Of course, it needed to be replanned and renovated.

That title made Ava’s face heat up. On paper, they were married, so she did count as the lady of the house. Still, they weren’t close. She couldn’t step into that role yet, which made her feel stiff and uneasy.

Mason felt she was unusually innocent when it came to relationships. She was nothing like most women her age. Most young women had plenty of men chasing them. Very few were as cautious as she was,
