The Hidden Heiress: Betrayed Before Her Reveal

Chapter 47 The Kissing Couple

Gary had brought Chloe for herbal supplements.

He’d heard the herbalist here was famous.

But he could not focus,

Sharon’s unusually calm face kept appearing in his mind.

An uneasy feeling twisted inside him, making him restless.

He glanced up by chance.

A tall, slender man walked quickly past them, carrying a woman in his arms.

The man headed straight into the VIP waiting area.

Gary caught a glimpse of the woman’s pretty face.

He shot up from his chair at once, ready to rush over.

But Chloe grabbed his wrist.

“Gary, what’s wrong? Where are you going?”

“I think I just saw Sharon… carried in by some guy,” Gary said, irritation flaring in his chest.

“Let go. I need to check.”

“Sharon with another man?” Chloe gasped, but she didn’t loosen her grip.

“No way. Everyone knows she only has eyes for you. You must be seeing things.”

Gary thought. She’s right.

Sharon would never be in another man’s arms.

She loves me too much to move on so easily, let alone be with someone else.

Gary’s tense body relaxed.

“You’re right. She wouldn’t,” he said, forcing a smile.

He gave up and sat back down.

Inside the VIP room at Healing Heart Clinic.

The man carefully set Sharon down on the sofa.

A young, clean-cut doctor in an old white coat and glasses walked in.

He was not the senior herbalist on the card.

Sharon glanced at his name tag-same last name, likely a junior member.

“Ju-” the doctor began.

The man cut him off calmly. “Brandon. It’s Ethan. She has severe stomach pain. Take a look.”

Brandon Reed froze for a second. “Alright.”

He checked Sharon’s pulse, his forehead creasing.

“Your pulse is weak and scattered. You’re extremely run-down. Did you… recently have a miscarriage?”

Sharon nodded. “Yes.”

The man’s eyes darkened slightly. His fingers curled quietly at his side.

“That explains it,” Brandon said, releasing her wrist.

“You’re badly drained. You must rest and stay in bed as much as possible. I’ll write you three prescriptions. Come back if they help.”

“Use the finest ingredients available. Make sure she recovers properly,” the man said firmly.

“Ethan… who is she? I haven’t seen her before,” Brandon asked, still writing.

The man glanced at him. “A friend I just met.”

Brandon looked surprised, studying Sharon.

“I see. So the family marriage arrangement is delayed again?”

“Stop talking,” the man said shortly.

Brandon chuckled and handed the prescription to Sharon, telling her to pick up the medicine.

Sharon blinked.

How sad.

She was about to stand when a strong arm slid under her knees.

In an instant, the man lifted her securely into his arms again.

The intimate gesture shocked Brandon.

“I… I can walk on my own,” Sharon stammered.

No other man had ever held her like this. Her face heated up.

“Didn’t you hear the doctor? You need to avoid moving around,” the man said gently, but firmi

Brandon opened the door for them, giving the man a knowing look.

He was about to speak, but the man’s gaze stopped him.

The man carried her toward the pharmacy.

Sharon rested against his chest, breathing in his faint cedar scent.

As they passed the main waiting area, she suddenly heard familiar voices.

“Gary, I’m so cold. I feel it in my bones. Hold me, please?”

“Alright. Why didn’t you wear more?”

“Nothing’s warmer than my husband’s arms.”

“You little tease.”
