Urging Him to Get a Divorce (Aveline and Xavier) novel Chapter 732

Chapter 732

Josephine’s heart burned with a fierce resentment, directed equally at Aveline and Xavier. The bitterness simmered beneath her calm exterior, though she tried to mask it.

She exhaled slowly, deliberately, a sound full of frustration. Leona, sitting nearby, caught the sigh and turned to her with concern. “What’s going on? Why the long face?” she asked gently.

Josephine hesitated for a moment. “If you’re worried about the movie, don’t be. I’ve already connected you with a wealthy woman who’s interested in investing in a film project just for fun. All you need to do is show her the script,” Leona reassured her.

Surprise flickered across Josephine’s face. “Really? Leona, that’s amazing! You’re so kind to me,” she said, gratitude softening her tone.

Leona gave her a friendly pat on the shoulder. “It’s nothing, really.”

But just as quickly as the smile appeared, it faded. Josephine’s expression darkened. “Actually, it’s not the movie I’m worried about,” she admitted quietly. “It’s my dad’s company.”

Leona’s brow furrowed with concern. “What’s going on with your dad’s company?”

Josephine sighed heavily. “Ever since Aveline’s mother passed away, my dad has been devastated. He’s lost all motivation to run the business. The executives have taken advantage of that and driven the company into serious trouble.”

She paused, her voice trembling slightly. “My dad built that company from nothing, alongside Bethany. It means everything to him. To keep it afloat, he’s borrowed heavily from the bank.”

Josephine’s eyes darkened with frustration. “I thought Xavier would help him secure a project, but Aveline won’t let him. She’s blocking any chance of help.”

Leona’s face tightened in disapproval. “Aveline’s behavior is cruel—heartless even. How can she treat her own father so coldly, especially when he and her mother built that company together?”

She glanced thoughtfully at Josephine. “I didn’t expect your dad to still hold feelings for Aveline’s mother.”

Leona had always assumed that after Jacob’s affair with Courtney, his feelings for Bethany would have faded completely.

Josephine shook her head. “No, my dad definitely cared for Bethany. Otherwise, why would they have gotten married and had Aveline?”

She hesitated, then continued, “I know it was wrong for him to be with my mom afterward, but he said even though he loved Bethany, she had a terrible temper and was difficult to communicate with. That frustration pushed him away and led him to my mom.”

Leona frowned, sensing the excuse was a familiar one. Yet she recalled Aveline’s own harsh nature and wondered if Bethany’s character had been just as difficult to have raised a daughter like that.

“She’s gone now,” Leona said softly, “Let’s not dwell on it.”

She looked at Leona earnestly. “You have connections. Could you help introduce a project for my dad’s company? And maybe talk to the Patriarch about helping settle the loan shark debt first?”

“If my dad’s company can get out of this mess, he’ll definitely repay the favor.”

Leona’s irritation showed. “Aveline could handle this herself. She’s the lead architect for Summit Adventure Park now—probably earning hundreds of millions in fees.”

“And Xavier could easily cover it too. It’s a drop in the bucket for him.”

She shook her head in disbelief. “Those two are unbelievable, just standing by and doing nothing.”

“Fine,” she said with resolve. “I’ll talk to the Patriarch.”

“I’ll mention the project, or I’ll speak with my husband to see if he has anything for your dad.”

Josephine’s face brightened instantly. “Thank you, Leona. You’re truly a lifesaver.”

Meanwhile, in the private dining room of the traditional restaurant inside The Chu’s Hotel at Six Peaks Mountain, Aveline deliberately ignored Xavier. He couldn’t show too much affection in front of Simon and Rebecca, so he kept his distance, frustration flickering in his eyes.
