Chapter 204: Warning to Xiang Yu

Xiang Yu’s surprise deepened, though he kept his face composed. "Why me? I’m not good at teaching others."

Han Jing smiled a calculated expression. "Don’t sell yourself short. I will pay you well for it."

Xiang Yu didn’t relish the idea of dealing with Han Jia, but he disliked the thought of dealing with Han Jing even more. He decided it would be best to teach Han Jia quickly and return to his own affairs, particularly to pick up the twins.

"You are excellent with firearms, and you must be good at teaching," Han Jing continued, his voice smooth. "I heard you have twin girls so you must be a very patient man."

The mention of his two little cuties was deliberate, a thinly veiled threat. Xiang Yu knew it, and so did Han Jing. This was a way to remind Xiang Yu that Han Jing was aware of what he valued most.

Han Jing wanted to provoke a reaction, to see something other than cold indifference in Xiang Yu’s eyes. He wanted to see fear, anxiety, anything that would give him an edge.

But Xiang Yu’s gaze remained steady, his expression unchanged. The same indifference stared back at Han Jing, who couldn’t help but admire Xiang Yu’s fearlessness. Perhaps Xiang Yu didn’t care about those girls as much as he thought, or perhaps he was simply that good at hiding his emotions.

Han Jing leaned back, a small smile playing on his lips. "So, will you do it?" he asked, his tone almost casual.

Xiang Yu took a slow sip from his glass, his eyes never leaving Han Jing’s. He showed no reaction, his face a mask of calm indifference. Years of harsh upbringing in that place had taught him to conceal his true emotions.

But inside, he was seething with rage. If Han Jing dared to lay a hand on Lian and Mei, he would make him regret it in ways unimaginable. He took another sip of his drink, the cool liquid doing little to quench the fire within him. "Alright, I will teach him," he said, his voice steady.

Their eyes locked, a silent battle of wills playing out between them. Han Jing finally broke the silence. "Good. He is upstairs, third door on the left."

Xiang Yu nodded and rose from his seat. As he turned to leave, Han Jing’s voice stopped him. "Xiang Yu."

He turned back, his expression still unreadable. "Be gentle with him," Han Jing said, a hint of amusement in his voice. "He is a little spoiled."

Xiang Yu leaned against the doorframe with an air of nonchalance, his eyes cold and assessing. "Your father said you need training on firearms. Come downstairs. I don’t have all day."

Han Jia blinked in confusion, pulling the quilt up around him having realised he was only wearing a pair of boxers. "What? What are you doing here?" he stammered, still half-asleep.

Xiang Yu folded his arms across his chest, his expression one of mild irritation. "Do you have a problem with your ears?" he asked, his voice dripping with sarcasm.

Han Jia, who had never been spoken to in such a manner, not even by Han Xin, was taken aback. "You... !" he exclaimed, his face flushing with anger. "Who do you think you are, talking to me like that?"

Xiang Yu remained unfazed. "I will be downstairs," he said simply, turning on his heel and walking away without another word.

Han Jia sat in stunned silence for a moment before scrambling out of bed. In his haste, he tripped over the quilt and fell to the floor with a thud. Muttering curses under his breath, he picked himself up and headed to the bathroom. His mother had mentioned that someone would come to see him today, but he hadn’t expected it to be Xiang Yu.

As Xiang Yu descended the stairs, he couldn’t help but feel a flicker of annoyance. He didn’t think today of all days he would be forced to babysit a lazy bastard. He just wanted to quickly get it over and done with so he could go and pick up Lian and Mei. He had already missed one school pick up and day and in his absence they had ended up in a tub of ice cream.
