Chapter 212: Tattoo shop under attack

Xiang Yu woke up from his long nap, feeling the weight of the day still lingering in his muscles. The room was cloaked in darkness, the window shut tight against the outside world. He rubbed his eyes, trying to shake off the remnants of sleep, and sat up slowly. The house was alive with the sounds of laughter and scolding, a familiar symphony that brought a small smile to his lips.

As he stepped out of his room, he could hear the twins, Lian and Mei, giggling while Little Bai’s voice carried a tone of stern reprimand. "You have to do your homework. Otherwise, you will get into trouble with your teacher, and they will call Brother Yu to come to school," Little Bai warned.

"But it’s boring, and we don’t understand it," Lian protested, her voice tinged with frustration.

Mei chimed in, "Brother Bai, we’ve never been to school."

Little Bai’s voice softened, a hint of sadness creeping in. He knew the girls had endured a difficult past before Xiang Yu adopted them, but hearing it spoken aloud made it all the more real. "I can teach you," he offered gently.

Lian, ever the charmer, put on her best sad puppy dog eyes. "Brother Bai, please do the homework for us," she pleaded.

"Please please please," chimed in Mei sounding so sad.

Little Bai hesitated, feeling his resolve waver. Just as he was about to give in, Xiang Yu descended the stairs, his presence commanding attention. "Girls, do your own homework," he said firmly.

Mei jumped up, her eyes lighting up. "Master, you’re awake!"

Xiang Yu nodded, a soft "mn" escaping his lips as he made his way to the kitchen. He was parched and needed water. Lian and Mei trailed behind him, their curiosity piqued.

"How are you feeling?" Lian asked, concern evident in her voice.

Xiang Yu rubbed his lower back, wincing slightly. "I am fine," he replied, turning on the tap and filling a mug with water. He took a long drink, savouring the cool relief.

"Master, we bought you some medicine," Mei said, her voice filled with pride.

Xiang Yu leaned casually against the counter, a hint of amusement in his eyes. "You guys are so thoughtful," he said, accepting the plastic bag Lian handed him. He placed it on the counter and opened it, revealing two creams, pain pills, and fever-reducing medicine. He frowned slightly, puzzled. "How do these help me with pain? How does Anusoothe help me with back pain?"

Little Bai, who had just walked in, looked surprised. "Didn’t the twins buy medicine for back pain? What’s going on?"

Xiang Yu rubbed his upper lip, his gaze fixed on the two culprits who stood before him, looking all too innocent. Lian, with her usual charm, spoke up first. "Master, we are your family." ƒree𝑤ebnσvel.com

Mei quickly added, "Yes, you don’t have to hide anything from us. You can tell us anything."

Despite their earnest expressions, Xiang Yu knew better. The twins, though in their late teens in the real world, were still too young to be burdened with all his secrets. He glanced down at the box in his hand and soon understood what the cream was meant for.

His eyebrows arched in surprise. This was butt cream. To be more precise, it was cream to soothe his chrysanthemum. Why? Why did they buy him this.

AN: Yes, why? *wink *wink

Lian grabbed Mei’s hand and pulled her inside. Xiang Yu followed, securing the door behind them. "You are okay, don’t be scared," he reassured them, his tone gentle yet firm. Lian hugged Mei tightly, stroking her hair in a soothing rhythm.

"Are you guys hurt?" Xiang Yu asked, his eyes scanning them for any signs of injury.

Lian and Mei shook their heads, but Lian’s eyes widened as she noticed the blood on Xiang Yu’s leg. "Master, you are hurt!"

"It’s not serious, don’t worry," Xiang Yu replied, dismissing his injury with a wave of his hand. He turned his attention to the surveillance monitors, pulling up the live feed from the shop. Several gunmen were moving through the store, their weapons drawn and ready.

Xiang Yu pulled out his phone and quickly dialed Little Bai. The explosions had clearly shaken him, and his voice trembled as he answered. "Are you guys okay?"

"We are fine," Xiang Yu assured him. "Just enter the safe room upstairs and don’t come out until I tell you to."

Little Bai, already familiar with the protocol, responded with a shaky "I am inside now."

"Good. Don’t be scared, okay? It will be fine," Xiang Yu said, his voice calm and reassuring.

Little Bai swallowed hard, his fingers trembling and his complexion ashen. "O-okay," he stammered.

Xiang Yu ended the call and turned back to the twins. "Stay here and stay quiet," he instructed. "I will handle this." Lian and Mei nodded their bodies trembling slightly.
