Venerable Demon King & The Doting Immortal (QT) novel Chapter 274

Chapter 274: The truth always comes to light.

The young man was as obedient as expected, and he was even grateful to Han Jing for taking care of his mother and grandmother’s funeral. Han Jing was pleased. He cultivated Han Xin for years, and the boy even surpassed him, solidifying his power and helping him become the dragon head. But who would have thought that his son would meet a vixen and become bewitched?

Han Jing’s mouth moved on its own, revealing truths he never thought he would divulge. Han Zhan asked him about his parents, and as if under a spell, Han Jing told him everything. His brother, Han Zimo, had shared the same vision for the family business as Han Xin, and their father had always favoured Han Zimo because of that. Han Jing had a feeling their father would push for Han Zimo to be the next heir, but he wouldn’t let that happen.

Han Zimo seemed to notice that his brother would do anything to be the clan leader, so he gave up the position and left the country for the sake of their brotherhood. Despite that, Han Zimo was still more competent, and plenty of people reminded Han Jing about it at every turn. When he failed it was walls Han Zimo would have solved it better.

When he delayed it was Han Zimo would have finished it faster. It was Han Zimo this Han Zimo that driving him to madness. Han Jing couldn’t sleep well unless he got rid of his brother, so he spread rumours that Han Zimo and his wife had betrayed the family. He had them dealt with, believing he would take this secret to the grave. But here he was, telling his nephew, who looked a lot like Han Zimo, about it.

Han Zhan’s face twisted with anger, and he lunged forward, but Han Xin held him back. Han Jia looked at his father with fear in his eyes. For the first time, Han Jia saw what an animal his father truly was.

The room was thick with tension. Han Jing’s confession hung in the air, a heavy, oppressive weight. Han Xin’s grip on Han Zhan was firm, his eyes cold and calculating.

Han Jing’s heart pounded in his chest. He had always been in control, always the one pulling the strings. But now, he felt the ground shifting beneath him. The truth he had buried for so long had finally come to light, and there was no going back.

Han Zhan’s voice was a low growl. "You fucker! You killed them! You killed my parents!"

Han Jing’s mouth was dry. "It was necessary. For the family."

"For the family?" Han Zhan spat. "You did it for your fucking self. You couldn’t stand that my father was better than you. Ah-Xin, let me go, I said let me go. I will beat him to death!"

Han Xin’s grip tightened on Han Zhan’s arm. "I promise, I will make him suffer," he said quietly. "Suffer for the rest of his life." ƒreewebηoveℓ.com

But Han Zhan’s rage was unstoppable. He tried to shake Han Xin’s hand away but Han Xin hugged him tight and whispered something into his ear. Han Zhan seemed to calm down but his face was streaming with tears.

"Do you know how much pain my mother was in?" Han Xin asked. Han Jing didn’t reply, and Han Xin didn’t expect him to. He took another drag and blew out the smoke, tears rolling down the corners of his eyes. "I watched her waste away, but you didn’t care, right?"

Han Xin looked down at his feet and continued, "She used to dance happily in the living room with a smile on her face. She was always happy, even when she had a horrible day working at the nursing home. In the end, she was skin and bones, she couldn’t keep anything down, and she had lost most of her hair. All for what? For your ego? Because how dare a woman reject you, was that it?"

Han Jing’s Adam’s apple rolled as he remembered those images. He had gone to see her, but she didn’t even look at him. All she had to do was beg him, and he would have saved her, but she didn’t even look at him, as if he were something despicable. Even in the face of death, she still had stubbornness in her eyes when he forced her to look at him.

Han Xin licked his dry lips before saying, "Well, after what you put her through, how could I let you go just like that? I will make you feel the pain I felt a hundredfold. I will let you live like this for the rest of your life and make you regret ever setting eyes on my mother. Death would be a luxury for you."

Han Jing’s heart pounded in his chest. The weight of Han Xin’s words settled over him like a suffocating blanket. He had always been the one in control, the one who dictated the terms. But now, he was at the mercy of his own son, a son who had inherited his ruthlessness but directed it back at him. The irony was bitter, and the realization that he had created his own tormentor was a cruel twist of fate.

Han Xin took another drag from his cigarette, the smoke curling around his face like a shroud. "You will live with excruciating pain, every single day," he said, his voice cold and unyielding. "And you will remember that you brought this upon yourself."
