Chapter 454: He disrespected my wife

Xiang Yu stood there, captivated as he watched the way Han Xin’s Adam’s apple bobbed with each swallow. He hadn’t realized how thirsty he was until now. Han Xin wiped his lips with the back of his hand, a hint of moisture glossy against his skin.

"It’s too warm," he said, handing the bottle back to Xiang Yu.

An expression of concern flickered across Xiang Yu’s face. "Is it?" he asked, taking the bottle and tasting it himself but Han Xin’s playful smirk betrayed him.

Suddenly, Xiang Yu’s eyes narrowed as he registered Han Xin’s trick. He smacked him lightly upside the head, irritation mixing with amusement. "If you want a kiss, just say it."

Han Xin rubbed the back of his head, suppressing a light chuckle. "Then can I have a kiss?" he asked, looking genuinely hopeful.

Xiang Yu shook his head, feigning indifference. "No."

"Babe," Han Xin pressed, "I just came from a difficult battle. I really need a kiss to feel better."

Xiang Yu scoffed, crossing his arms. "Difficult? You think I don’t know you were toying with Sirius to punish him? You could have ended him from the very beginning."

Caught, Han Xin was at a loss for words. He couldn’t help but wonder just how much Xiang Yu knew about him. He was sharp and perceptive, and sometimes it frightened Han Xin how well he could read him.

Xiang Yu turned to walk away, but Han Xin quickly grabbed his wrist, his fingers brushing gently against Xiang Yu’s skin. He was about to say something heartfelt when his communicator buzzed suddenly, the timing infuriatingly inconvenient.

Han Xin wanted nothing more than to ignore Han Zhan and the unwanted call. He pulled Xiang Yu closer, wrapping his arm securely around his waist. The warmth of Xiang Yu’s body was a comfort against the coolness of the cabin. Instinctively, Xiang Yu knew what Han Xin was planning. "You have to answer it," he said firmly. freeωebnovēl.c૦m

But Han Xin nuzzled against Xiang Yu’s belly, his voice muffled as he responded, "You answer it."

With a sigh, Xiang Yu picked up the communicator while Han Xin continued to lean against him, content. A moment later, Han Zhan’s face appeared on the large floating screen. "Ah-Xin—" but his voice abruptly cut off as he processed the sight before him. His cousin was embracing Xiang Yu and practically sniffing him like an addict.

Han Zhan was speechless, and so was Doctor Bai, who stood behind him, mouth slightly agape.

Han Xin, noticing their reaction, raised his head and smirked. "What? You need something?"

Xiang Yu stroked Han Xin’s hair affectionately as if they were in their own private world. The contrast between their intimacy and Han Zhan’s bewilderment made the scene even more comical.

"Uh, Emperor Xandr is on the line, like you asked," Han Zhan stammered, trying to regain his composure.

With a dazed expression, as if he had just been jolted out of a dream, Han Xin replied, "Okay."

Han Zhan immediately ended the call, eyes wide with disbelief. "See? See? He’s bewitched! He flaunts his love like he’s the only one in the room."

Little Bai shook his head, a smirk gracing his lips. "You do the exact same thing. When he was single, I told you to stop flirting with me when around him, yet here you are complaining."

He finally took a deep breath, clearing his head. He commanded, "Zeus, connect the call with Emperor Xandr." The cold screen in front of him flickered to life, illuminating his cabin in a soft blue glow.

As he waited, Han Xin took a long sip from the bottle of water. The sweetness lingered on his lips, reminding him that Xiang Yu had drunk from the same bottle moments ago. It made his heart swell with warmth.

The screen lit up fully, revealing Emperor Xandr seated on a magnificent throne that exuded power and authority. However, the expression on the emperor’s face was anything but welcoming. It was ugly, twisted with contempt. "So, you are the son of that bastard Han," he said, his voice dripping with disdain.

In an instant, Han Xin froze, a surge of rage boiling beneath the surface. His earlier good mood vanished in that moment, replaced by a simmering anger. He downed the last of the water, closed the bottle with a sharp twist, and set it aside. Twisting the ring on his finger, he steadied himself. "You can’t disrespect my father."

Emperor Xandr scoffed, the sound condescending. "But you can disrespect my son?"

Han Xin’s lips twitched at the accusation. "Your son disrespected my wife. You are lucky he’s not dead."

The emperor blinked, confusion washing over his features. Which wife was he referring to? Wasn’t this brat a bachelor? All the reports said so and he had even thought of still sending his daughter Selene.

Han Xin’s stare hardened. "You will abide by the old treaty." His glare was fierce, unwavering, like the unyielding steel of his resolve.

Xandr laughed dismissively. "Why would I do that?"

"Because you have no choice," Han Xin replied, the weight of his words hanging in the air. "Unless you want to lose the entire Federation."
