Chapter 85: Peeping Tom

Xiang Yu’s face looked pale as the realisation of his phantom period settled in. He still believed that the Divine Emperor had it out for him because there was no way he couldn’t deal with this matter. Who would have thought that one day, this venerable one would be clutching his stomach with sore nipples?

He now understood why Lian got so angry during that time of the month and why Mei cried so much. The emotional turmoil felt like a vortex, pulling him in every direction at once. Overwhelmed, he pulled the quilt over his head and muttered, "Leave me to stew alone."

Lian and Mei exchanged worried glances, unsure how to comfort their master. They were about to suggest calling the physician when the carriage came to a stop. It was too early for them to set up camp, so what was happening? The twins peered out of the curtain curious to see what was going on. Yi Nuo approached the carriage her stature tall and imposing in her armour.

"We will be camping here tonight," she announced. "Her Highness can come with us to take a bath up the river." Lian and Mei knew that was impossible. Their master might look like a pretty lady but he was a man.

"Her Highness likes privacy," said Mei and Lian chimed in, "She is very shy but we can come."

Yi Nuo didn’t question it. She nodded her head and said, "We will be leaving soon so please get ready," before walking away. The girls’ faces lit up with excitement their heads slipping back inside the carriage. Han Xin, who had been petting his horse, glanced in that direction for a split second before looking away.

The twins, who had no idea that they were being watched, turned back to their master, excited to play in the water. Xiang Yu was still hiding under the quilt almost suffocating himself in there. "Master, we are going to bathe at the river," Lian said gently.

Mei added, "Do you need anything before we go?"

Xiang Yu’s muffled voice came from under the quilt. "You can go first. I will be fine." He could only wait till they returned to go take a bath. The twins hesitated for a moment, then nodded and left the carriage, eager for the refreshing bath. Xiang Yu remained under the quilt feeling like crap.

He tried to bear the cramps but it was like someone was slicing through his body tissue with a blunt knife. He couldn’t fathom how women put up with this every single month. Gritting his teeth he told himself to take it like a champ but soon he didn’t want to be a champ anymore.

Han Xin had been watching her ever since she left her carriage. He thought she had left with the female soldiers, but it turned out she had remained behind. When he saw her walking into the forest, he followed after, curious about what she was plotting.

He moved with the stealth of a shadow, his presence unnoticed until he was right behind her. If this was the old Xiang Yu he would have felt his presence a long time ago. His vigilance wasn’t as good in this body. By the time he realised something was wrong, it was already too late.

Peng Xiu was staring at the soldiers who were fully in the nude. Han Xin was pretty sure she was staring at Jun De’s toned muscles admiringly. In one swift motion, he grabbed her arm and spun her around to face him. Startled, Xiang Yu’s instincts kicked in, and he tried to pull away from him, but the difference in strength between them was obvious.

Han Xin’s grip tightened as he seized her other arm preventing her from escaping. Xiang Yu glared at him, his eyes blazing with defiance. "What are you doing?" he demanded.

Without a word, Han Xin began to drag him deeper into the forest.
