He knew what it was and how it happened, but who it was remained a mystery. Who had the general locked lips with? And here he thought that Han Xin was the innocent virgin type that would yell ’bad touch’ if one so much as stood too close. Apparently not. It seemed there were plotlines the Divine Emperor missed.
Han Xin felt uncomfortable being scrutinised like this. Xiang Yu patted his arm with an ’I am concerned for you’ look on his face and said, "Invite me with you next time you go meet the ladies. I will make sure you don’t get swindled and pay more for the service. Well, for a price of course. My services aren’t cheap either."
Han Xin, "???"
Pay more for what service. He had no idea what she was talking about. Xiang Yu seemed to sense that so he pointed at his lip and said, "Your lip. Some courtesans like to bite to mark you so everyone in town will know you are taken. If that happens, demand a discount."
Han Xin’s face grew darker and darker the more he spoke. Xiang Yu was almost certain that Han Xin was the reincarnation of a puffer fish. He was genuinely giving good advice but for some reason Han Xin was on the verge of exploding.
Han Xin was so angry. He had never been this angry in his entire existence. His reputation was thrown in the mud. Had he ever been to brothels? No, he had never stepped in one in his entire life.
He felt like that place was filthy, to begin with. If he entered into one, he might even be able to identify invisible stains like he had UV black light for pupils. This innocent general, who didn’t even know what the door of a brothel looked like, was now being accused by the culprit, of visiting one. How infuriating.
Unwilling to catch strays when he blew up, Xiang Yu turned away and walked back to the campfire where the soldiers were still gathered. "Mei," he called, his voice cutting through the chatter. "Give the coin purse with our winnings to sister Nuo."
Mei hesitated, her worry evident. She was always the more cautious twin when it came to money. Reluctantly, she handed over the pouch, her eyes filled with concern. Xiang Yu knew her too well. She was the type who would count every coin and reprimand him for buying too many things.
Well, that was when they were broke and he wasn’t yet the demon king. Noticing her unease he tossed the even fancier coin pouch into Mei’s hands. Mei stared at it, bewildered, while Lian peeked inside her curiosity piqued. They couldn’t help but wonder what favour their master had to do to shake this much money out of the general.
Xiang Yu sat down while addressing the soldiers, his tone light but commanding. "Your general is so generous. He took pity on you and told me to pay your money back. Sort it out among yourselves."
Han Xin ignored her. His eyes narrowed as he studied the board. He took his time, the silence stretching out as he contemplated his next move. Then, with a calm precision, he placed a white stone and the effect was immediate and devastating. In a few swift moves, Han Xin turned the game on its head, securing his victory.
Xiang Yu, "WTF"
He stared at the board in shock, replaying the moves in his mind. It had been a very long time since someone had beaten him and it just had to be this ugly bastard. His brows furrowed as he finally realised his mistakes.
He raised his head and smiled, a mixture of admiration and curiosity in his eyes. Xiang Yu was never a sore loser, but the next time he played against you, he would make sure to wipe the floor with you. "What do you want?" he asked.
Han Xin didn’t expect her to be this relaxed and that smile was the most genuine she had given him ever since the time she was kneeling in the temple. He leaned back, his expression unreadable. "Not here," he replied, his voice low and enigmatic. What he wanted couldn’t be said in the company of others. Lian and Mei exchanged glances while internally squealing. Han Zhan’s eyes narrowed a little concerned. Was his cousin coercing the princess into another kiss? He decided to talk to him and explain how unhealthy and morally corrupt his methods were
