Chapter 112
Ashley said, ‘III look it over.” She opened it, but then Tim’s secretary entered, whispering, “Ms. Jones, Mr. Mark Mond and Miss Tanya Mond are downstairs. Should I take them to your office…”
“No, she interrupted. Tell them to leave.”
Okay.
After the secretary left, Ashley apologized to Jeffery and reviewed the proposal. She thought Jeffery’s late arrival was strategic; his proposal was detailed and perfectly aligned with her requirements.
In Jeffery’s eyes, Ashley was pretending to understand his proposal. He didn’t bother correcting her; he wasn’t in a rush.
Half an hour later, she set it down.”Mr. Cooper, your proposal is excellent; we’ll consider it.”

Jeffery only wanted to discuss it with Tim. “Thank you. I really look forward to collaborating with Eternal.” He added, “I should get going. Ms. Jones, see you around.”
Ashley had sensed that he didn’t like her, but she didn’t care. She only cared about her interests. Thus, she ignored his arrogance.”See said to the secretary, Please walk Mr. Cooper out.”
Downstairs, Jeffery saw a familiar figure.”Miss Mond?”
you
around.” She
Tanya and Mark hadn’t left. They assumed Tim’s absence was just a pretext. They waited, hoping to talk to him. Instead, they encountered Jeffery.
Two weeks had passed since Tanya’s injury; she was recovering but still looked pale. Jeffery, having learned about her injury at Speed, felt sorry for her But he didn’t know what to say, because she got injured because of Chase.
Mark guessed Jeffery was some big shot. He asked, Tanya, who’s this gentleman?”
Tanya, noticing Jeffery’s sympathy, said calmly,”Jeffery Cooper.” Then, she introduced her father to Jeffery.
Jeffery greeted Mark politely. Tanya said, “Mr. Cooper, you’re here for a collaboration, right?”
Yes. Is that also why you’re here?”
“Yes.” Tanya asked, “Did you see Mr. Reed?”
No. He’s out of town.”
Mark said, So he really is out of town. I thought he just didn’t want to see us.”
Jeffery, seeing them waiting, asked, “No one invited you upstairs?”
“No. Mr. Reed’s secretary said we should leave.”
Jeffery’s face darkened. Tanya noticed that.”What’s wrong?”
He said coldly, Mr. Reed is out of town, but I met Ms. Jones there. She said she was handling everything here and had a say in the matter of cooperation.”
Whether true or not, it was clear that she didn’t want to see Tanya!
Mark was stunned. Tanya stayed calm.”Really?” She told her father, “Let’s go home.”
Mark was about to speak when Ashley came downstairs. She was a bit surprised at the sight of them. Tanya’s phone rang.
“Chase?” she answered, smiling.”You’re here? Okay. I’ll be right there.”
Jeffery asked, ‘Mr. Sterling’s here?”
“Mm-hmm,” Tanya replied, her voice softening.”My wound isn’t fully healed, and Chase’s worried sick, so he came to get me.” She didn’t look at Ashley. “Mr. Cooper, we’ll be going now. See you next time.”
Jeffery wanted to confront Ashley, but seeing Tanya’s disdain, he felt she didn’t give a stuff what Ashley did. Her arrogance and directness made her even more attractive. He felt Ashley didn’t deserve to compete with Tanya and he found himself genuinely disliking her.
He said to Tanya, “I’m leaving too. Let’s go together.”
Tanya nodded, and they left without looking back. Tanya ignored Ashley, but Jeffery gave her a cold look before leaving Ashley knew why; she was used to men disliking her because of Tanya. She gave him a cold look in return, ignoring them as she walked towards the exit.
Jeffery was surprised by her unapologetic boldness. He smirked, impressed by her audacity.
Ashley’s nonchalant manner made Mark frown. Tanya was subtly stunned, then continued walking.
Chase was waiting by his car. There was a flash of surprise in his eyes when he saw Ashley and the others, but he quickly looked away. Ashley, without greeting him, went to her car. As she drove off, she saw Chase opening the car door for Tanya.
Tim returned Friday afternoon; a gala was scheduled for Saturday. Hearing about Jeffery’s visit, he scoffed.”We don’t need to collaborate with him. He’s
annoying.”
Ashley agreed. They had more options.
Saturday afternoon, Ashley was preparing for the gala when her phone rang. It was Sam. She’d ignored his calls, expecting him to stop. However, Sam still called her two or three times during the week, and she ignored them all.
Sam, no longer as distraught, put down his phone. His father had said to keep calling until his mother answered. He looked at Chase, who was in his formal attire.”Daddy, you’re leaving for Aunt Tanya so soon?”
