Ashley and Tim exchanged glances. “Elizabeth?”

Elizabeth smiled, hugging them both.”It’s me.” She pinched their cheeks, then addressed Ashley.”Ash, I missed you so much.”

“Oh…” Ashley replied. They hadn’t seen each other since her wedding, which was seven years ago. Overwhelmed with emotion, she hugged Elizabeth.

Elizabeth was surprised but smiled warmly.”My dear Ash, you’re getting sentimental!”

“I missed you,” Ashley admitted. Thinking of the past, she felt a surge of emotion. Elizabeth knew some of what Ashley had been through; she knew she’d suffered. She patted her back gently, offering silent support.

After pleasantries, Elizabeth noticed Chase playing chess. She tapped her chin. That’s Chase Sterling, right?”

Ashley nodded.

“He’s even more handsome than before.”

Ashley and Tim exchanged glances.”You’ve met him before?”

“Yes,” Elizabeth laughed.”Didn’t my brother tell you?”

“I met him over a decade ago.”

Tim was surprised.”That long ago?”

“Yes.” Elizabeth, a world-renowned concertmaster, was dressed in disguise. Seeing onlookers, she put her sunglasses back on.”He almost became William’s student, you know.”

Ashley and Tim were stunned.

Elizabeth raised an eyebrow.”What? William didn’t tell you that?”

Tim coughed. “Will Professor Burke be free tonight?”

‘He should be. I had breakfast with him this morning.”

Although Tim didn’t like Chase because of Ashley, he knew Chase was highly skilled in AI. He’d realized this during Amanda’s birthday party when Chase mentioned collaborating on a detector project with Burke, and Burke didn’t say no. This meant Burke was aware of Chase’s abilities.

Ashley had also realized this. Tim was curious why Chase hadn’t become Burke’s student.
