Chapter 325
After the secretary left, Tanya’s mood grew heavier and heavier.
Technology is the foundation of a company’s development.
With Jexel already ahead, for Speed to gain a foothold in the self-driving car market, Speed needs to achieve another technological breakthrough.
But breaking through technology is too difficult.
So far, she has invested six or seven hundred million in Speed.
But with Jexel’s disruption, Speed’s future is now uncertain. If she continues to invest, and if Speed doesn’t achieve an influential technological breakthrough in the future, it would mean ten or twenty hundred million would be directly thrown into the water.
If she stopped here, she would be unwilling.
Now, should she advance or retreat…
Thinking of this, she thought of Chase.
However, even he couldn’t be sure whether the company would achieve a favorable technological breakthrough in the future, could he?
So, even if she asked him, he probably couldn’t give a completely definite answer, could he?

Tanya sat deep in thought for a long time, until her secretary knocked on the door and came in again, only then did she suddenly realize it was already
noon.
Her secretary asked, “Ms. Mond, do you need me to arrange lunch for you?”
Tanya looked at her phone, but didn’t say anything.
She believed Chase knew even better than her how much impact Jexel would have on Speed.
So, based on her understanding of him, he should be able to guess Mr. Bennett and Mr. Coleman’s attitude towards Speed now.
She was at the time she needed him most.
However, ever since they finished dinner with Mr. Bennett yesterday, he hadn’t contacted her even once.
Thinking about how focused Chase looked at Ashley on stage at yesterday’s press conference, completely oblivious to her presence, her heart felt like it was tightly squeezed, somewhat pained.
So, is it that he, just like her, hasn’t actually recovered from the impact Ashley brought at yesterday’s press conference?
Ashley had been busy for most of the day, and at around 5 PM, her phone rang.
It was Sam’s call.
She glanced at it, but still picked up: “Sam, what’s up?”
Mom, our school is about to start summer vacation, and there’s a parent-teacher conference tomorrow, would you come and attend it for me?
Ashley paused, she hadn’t managed his affairs for a long time.
Summer vacation already?
Yeah.
Ashley collected herself and said lightly, “Is your dad busy?”
With the Jexel press conference out, Tanya must be swamped, so he doesn’t have time to attend Sam’s parent-teacher conference?
“Dad is free, though.” Sam pouted:”But I want you, Mom, to accompany me. Mom, could you come over tomorrow morning, okay?”
Ashley said, “Got it.”
Sam happily cried out, “Yay!”
‘Mom still has things to take care of, gotta go now, see you tomorrow.”
“Okay, see you tomorrow, Mom!”
The next day.
After Ashley drove to Sam’s school in the morning, Sam saw her and threw himself into her arms:”Mom!”
“Mm Ashley patted his head, then held his hand and walked into the school.
Aunt Susan and Ms. Davis were quite surprised to see her personally come to Sam’s parent-teacher conference.
Mersi
After all, ever since the previous parent-child activity, even if there were any other events at school, it was basically Chase who accompanied Sam.
Ms. Davis greeted, “Sam’s mom, long time no see.”
Long time no see.”
After greeting each other, Ms. Davis chatted with Ashley about Sam’s performance at school these past few days.
From the teacher’s words, Ashley learned that Sam was living quite happily, whether at home or at school.
In other words, Chase really did care about him a lot.
During the parent-teacher conference, Sam held Ashley’s hand and said coquettishly, “Mom, we haven’t gone out to eat together for a long time. Shall we go out for lunch together later?”
Ashley agreed:”Okay.”
However, after the parent-teacher conference, as Ashley walked out of the school gate holding Sam’s hand, she saw Chase getting out of his car.
Sam saw Chase, but wasn’t surprised; instead, he happily said, “Daddy, you’re here?”
After Chase glanced at Ashley, he replied, “Mhm.”
