Chapter 369.
Mr. Harrison and the others exchanged looks.
Then they realized: Chase was here for Ashley.
Huh…
But Chase already had a girlfriend, and they were pretty serious. So, his interest in Ashley had to be professional admiration, right?
Ashley and Chase talked for a while.
Once they covered the parts of the proposal he cared about, the conversation ended.
After that, they didn’t talk again.
But Jackson, Eldric, Mr. Harrison, and a few others with sharp eyes noticed-Chase kept stealing glances at Ashley.
As the dinner was nearly over, Chase’s phone rang.
Memu
Whatever he heard, his expression shifted instantly. After hanging up, he said, “Ms. Jones, everyone, sorry-something urgent came up. We’ll catch up
next time.”
Since he’d singled her out, Ashley could only say,”Alright, take care.”
Chase and Jackson, along with the rest, left quickly.
Mr. Harrison watched watched them go.”Mr. Sterling looked worried. Must be something big.”
Ashley’s heart skipped.
Could it be… Emily’s condition had suddenly worsened?
She quickly pulled out her phone.
If something had happened to Emily, Chase would’ve texted her right after leaving.
No unread messages.
So it wasn’t about Emily.
Her tense shoulders eased.
Meanwhile.
Eldric and Jackson found out after leaving the restaurant-Tanya’s car had been rear-ended. She was badly hurt.
Soon, Chase and Eldric were at the hospital.
Catherine rushed over. Chase, you’re finally here!”
His gaze shot to the ER doors.”What’s the situation?”
Before Catherine or Vivian could answer, the doors swung open. Everyone rushed forward.
“Doctor, my daughter-
‘Doctor, my granddaughter-”
‘Doctor-”
Voices overlapped, giving the doctor a headache.
The doctor raised a hand. Once it was quiet, he said, “The head injury isn’t critical right now. We’ll know more after she wakes up and we run more
tests.”
The Mond and Holden families crowded in, peppering him with questions. Meanwhile, Chase told Eldric to handle Tanya’s admission.
Once she was moved to a room, everyone gathered at her bedside.
Jackson had gone back to the office. Only Eldric stayed with Chase at the hospital.
Chase had planned a business trip the next day. But before dinner with Ashley’s team, something unexpected came up-his trip got moved up.
Eldric checked his watch, leaned in. “Mr. Sterling, it’s already two-thirty in the afternoon. We need to leave before three or we’ll miss the flight.”
Even though the doctor said Tanya was stable, the head injury was serious. She wouldn’t wake up for at least another hour…
