Before they knew it, it was Eternal’s anniversary celebration day.

That afternoon, Ashley and Tim stopped working. After getting ready for a couple of hours, they arrived at the venue, dressed to the nines and right on

time.

They’d invited a ton of guests for this anniversary celebration.

They’d only been there a little while when guests started showing up.

Jeffery was one of them.

Jeffery wasn’t a fan of Ashley or Tim, but he hadn’t seen Tanya in a while because of work. He knew Tanya would be at Eternal’s anniversary party today, so he made a point to come early.

Tim was busy greeting some of the recently arrived guests.

When Ashley saw Jeffery, even though she didn’t like him, she still professionally stepped forward to greet him,”Mr. Cooper, long time no see. Please

come in.”

Jeffery gave her a brief glance. Seeing Ashley being polite and not wanting any trouble, he gave a faint nod in response. But he was clearly distracted, scanning the large venue quickly while responding to Ashley.

A hint of disappointment flickered in his eyes when he didn’t see Tanya.

But he wasn’t too bummed, ’cause he knew Chase usually rolled in fashionably late to these shindigs.

More guests arrived, and Jeffery snapped his gaze back, dismissing Ashley coolly.”Go greet the others.”

Ashley was more than happy to.

Still, she kept up appearances.

She smiled. Alright. We’ve got a lot of guests tonight, Mr. Cooper. If anything isn’t up to par, please forgive us.”

Ashley’s tone made it sound like she was the host.

Jeffery didn’t like it much, but told himself it wasn’t worth arguing over, so he just gave a cold nod.

Ashley didn’t say anything else, turning to greet other guests.

She’d barely chatted for a bit when Chase and Tanya showed up.

Just like Jeffery, Ashley actually knew Chase was almost always one of the last people to arrive at events.

Seeing Chase show up so early today, a flicker of surprise crossed Ashley’s eyes.

But since Chase was here, and given Eternal’s partnership with Sterling Corp, she had no choice but to go and greet him.

But she only greeted Chase: Mr. Sterling.”

Chase extended his hand and shook hers.

Ashley completely ignored Tanya, not even glancing at her, and simply told Chase in a flat tone, “Please come in.”

Chase was always the one everyone wanted to talk to.

As soon as Ashley finished greeting him, a bunch of guests started walking over to Chase and Tanya.

“Mr. Sterling’s here? You’re quite early today, Mr. Sterling.”

“I hear Sterling Corp and Eternal are working great together. Eternal is Sterling Corp’s most important partner now, so it makes sense Mr. Sterling would show up early.”

Jeffery saw Chase and Tanya arrive and immediately walked over.

‘Mr. Sterling, Ms. Mond.”

Chase saw Jeffery and a slight smile played on his lips: Mr. Cooper, long time no see.”

Jeffery replied, “Long time no see.”

Tanya still felt kinda pissed about Ashley totally ignoring her, but seeing familiar faces and the way Jeffery looked at her, her mood definitely brightened.

When Jeffery greeted her, she gave a slight nod.”Mr. Cooper.”

bit.”

Chase’s eyes landed on her when she spoke. “You do you.”

Ashley didn’t look at him, just nodded and left.

Just as she walked away, Zark and Ethan arrived.
