We Want Mommy Not You Daddy (Cedar) novel Chapter 75

Chapter 75

Oliver’s POV

Aiden, you investigated Mommy?1 demanded, suddenly angry.

Aiden’s face remained cold. Why shouldn’t I? However, I still can’t figure out why you insist on calling Ms. Wright Mommy.

Hearing this, I felt smug. Of course he couldn’t figure it out!

The truth about Mommy was something I’d worked incredibly hard to discover from Grandma. Even with all of Sterling Design Group’s resources, Aiden would never find out that secret!

Aiden narrowed his eyes. I collected several childhood photos of Ms. Wright and noticed that all three of us siblings share physical similarities with her. I strongly suspect that Ms. Wright is our mother. Therefore, I’m arranging for DNA testing between myself and Ms.

Wright.

I stared at him, my chest heaving with panic.

How could Aiden be so smart? How did he figure this out?

What could I do to throw him off? I absolutely couldn’t let Cedar and Aiden reconnect as mother and son. If that happened, she wouldn’t

love me as much anymore!

My eyes darted around frantically as I tried to think of a lie.

And this had to be kept secret from Daddy!

Aiden’s voice was matteroffact. Don’t forgetwe’re all full siblings. Same parents. That means your mommy? She’s our mommy too. You

get that, right?

The words hit me like a truck.

Suddenly I could picture it allmy brother and sister competing with me for Mommy’s hugs, her bedtime stories, her kisses goodnight. There was only one Mommy, but three of us kids. That meant I’d only get a tiny piece of her love!

N

o, no! This was too horrible!

Oliver, don’t you want to live with Mommy legitimately?Aiden looked at me calmly.

I struggled to focus. What do you mean?

If Cedar marries Daddy, then you can live with her forever, officially.

I stared at him in horror as new images filled my mind.

:

Now Daddy was in the picture too! I might be able to compete against two siblings, but add Daddy to the mix, and I’d lose Mommy

completely!

No way! Absolutely not!I shook my head violently.

Aiden, stop with these terrible ideas. If Mommy marries Daddy, do you think he’d still let me sleep with her at night?

4

Aiden’s eyes widened. What? You’ve been sleeping with her?

Hmph! She brushes my teeth and gives me baths too. I’ve even worn her clothes! And every night, she tells me bedtime stories that are a hundred times better than Charles’s!I boasted proudly. Daddy is a big meanie. I don’t want Cedar to marry him! If she’s going to marry anyone, it should be me!

Aiden stared at me, seeming to sense something wasn’t quite right

I grinned. Aiden, if you want to hear Mommy’s stories, come find me at Wicker Park. This is our secretdon’t tell Daddy, okay?

Don’t tell me what?A deep, cold voice cut through the air behind us.

My smile died on my face.

I gulped and spun around, forcing the most innocent grin I could manage. Daddy! You’re home! I was just about to call you!

Daddy strolled in like he owned the world, shrugging off his suit jacket before settling onto the sofa.

His smile was icecold. Have a nice little adventure? Finally decided to grace us with your presence?

I shot a look at Charles, who was suddenly very interested in his shoes and wouldn’t meet my eyes. Traitor!

Daddy, I was just following your instructions,I said nervously, sweat beading on my forehead. I’m your most obedient child. You told me to come home, so I came! Hehe, Daddy, I’ve been gone for so many days, I’ve fallen behind on my studies. I should go to my room and catch up now-

I tried to dash upstairs.

Come back. Stand over there,Daddy pointed to the corner, his voice freezing with displeasure.

I shivered, looking to Aiden for help.

Aiden remained silent, clearly not planning to intervene.

Fair enoughI had run away for over two weeks. That was pretty irresponsible!

Daddy, 1I know I was wrongI stood obediently in the corner, my voice starting to crack.

Daddy laughed coldly. You know you were wrong, but you have no intention of changing, right?

I pressed my lips together, not answering.

I knew finding Mommy was wrong in Daddy’s eyes, but I did it anyway and didn’t regret it. Given another chance, I’d do exactly the same

thing.
