Weakest Beast Tamer Gets All SSS Dragons novel Chapter 727

Capítulo 727: Chapter 727 – Taming the Fifth Year – Keep Your Silence Between Us

Luna’s carefully constructed mask cracked.

Not completely. Just hairline fractures that let something through.

She looked up at Ren, meeting his eyes directly for the first time in weeks.

And found something there that made her throat tight. Not anger like she’d feared. Not hurt or accusation or any of the things she’d dreaded seeing.

Just understanding and acceptance. And something else she didn’t have words for but recognized anyway because it reflected what she’d been trying to suppress in herself.

“Hi,” Ren said softly.

One word, simple and ordinary… But carrying a weight that made it feel like so much more.

Like an acknowledgment that they were finally here, together.

Her mask was still cracked. Her walls were still failing. But maybe, just maybe, that wasn’t entirely a bad thing.

Before she could even push her own “hi” out of her shrunken throat…

Ren drew her closer with a movement that was smooth yet firm, placing his other hand in the appropriate position on her back. Not too low, not too high. Exactly where protocol dictated.

The placement was perfect… Textbook.

The kind of positioning that suggested either extensive training or the use of a supernatural ability to copy someone who had extensive training.

His grip was solid. Secure despite everything.

As if he had no intention of letting her lead at all.

The music began, a soft melody that instructors used for basic practices. Something simple enough for the first day with the new couples but complex enough to require actual final exams coordination rather than just stepping in place.

And Ren began to guide.

Firm and confident. As if breathing and dancing with her had the same difficulty… As if he’d been doing this for years.

But what Luna noticed most, what she couldn’t ignore no matter how hard she tried, was how he looked at her.

Fixedly.

Without averting his eyes even once.

Not in the way some nobles stared, assessing value or searching for weakness or calculating political advantage. But something else… Something that made her feel simultaneously seen and exposed in ways that had nothing to do with combat or competition.

Luna tried to hold his gaze defiantly like her “tough girl” external image demanded.

Really tried.

The Luna Starweaver that didn’t flinch. Didn’t back down.

She lasted maybe five seconds before she had to look away toward his shoulder, pretending to be focused on maintaining correct posture.

The excuse was flimsy. They both knew it.

And she could feel his eyes still on her.

Constant and unwavering.

Seeing through the excuse without calling it out.

Just… looking.

“Look at me,” Ren said softly, his voice barely audible over the music.

It wasn’t a command. The tone was wrong for that.

Too gentle, too… inviting.

It was a request instead.

An invitation to trust him, to be vulnerable in this small way.

Luna raised her gaze again.

She lasted maybe eight seconds this time before having to look away, her heart accelerating for reasons that had nothing to do with the physical exercise of dancing.

Progress, technically.

Three more seconds than before. But it felt like failure when those eight seconds had required more effort than fighting Gold-rank beasts.

This was torture.

Pure torture.

Because every time she looked into those eyes, she saw understanding there. Saw concern that she hadn’t earned and didn’t know how to handle. Saw…

Too much.

His eyes softened. Something warm replacing the previous intensity.

And he began to speak.

“I want to help you,” he said without preamble, his voice low but clear enough to carry over the music. “No matter what. In whatever way you want to receive help.”

Luna tensed, thinking about pulling away. Creating distance before this conversation went places she couldn’t handle. Before he asked questions she couldn’t answer without revealing everything she’d been trying to hide.

But Ren kept her close.

“No,” he continued, as if reading her thoughts, “I’m not going to ask what’s happening. I’m not going to demand explanations or reproach anything.”

His grip was firm but not restrictive. Holding but not restraining. The difference mattering more than she’d expected.

They continued dancing. One, two, three. Turn.

The steps providing structure to a conversation that would have been impossible standing still. Giving them something to focus on besides the weight of words being spoken.

“I just need you to know this: you’re important to me… Personally.”

Luna’s heart skipped a beat.

The word hung between them. Personally.

Not politically.

Not strategically.

Not because of house alliances or mutual benefits or any of the calculated reasons nobles usually valued each other.

Just… personally.

“You’re not alone,” Ren continued, his eyes never leaving hers. Making eye contact impossible to avoid now that he was saying things that mattered more than dance technique. “I know it feels that way. I know you’ve been carrying something heavy without help… But you don’t have to do it like that.”
