Welcome to Hell (by Williane Kassia) novel Chapter 104

Chapter 104

Why the fuck didn’t he trust me?

Why, after everything, did he believe those filthy strangers?

My fingers tightened around the bottle, the cold glass a sharp contrast to the heat burning under my skin. The weight of betrayal pulsed like a fresh wound.

A part of me wanted to march back to that cell and make him repeat every single word he’d thrown at me.

The other part…

I just wanted to sink deeper into this oblivion.

And right now… it was the only thing that made sense.

The only thing keeping me from going there and doing something I might regret.

Maybe.

With tense muscles and a spinning head, I dropped into a random chair in the corner of the room, letting the emotional exhaustion crush down on me.

The dizziness hit fast, the mix of everything dulling my senses.

My vision blurred, everything around me shifting out of focus.

The bottle nearly slipped from my fingers, but I caught it, forcing another swig down my throat. The alcohol burned, but not enough to kill the fire eating me alive.

I tilted my head back, staring at the stained, filthy ceiling, searching for some scrap of peace in the empty space above.

But there was no peace.

F**k.

Everything had finally been falling into place.

Elijah was mine.

Body, mind, and soul.

And deep down… I was his too,

Even though I never planned on giving myself to anyone like this.

Chapter 104

1 never wanted to love anyone.

I never thought I was even capable of it.

I just wanted to own him from the start.

Desire came before the feeling, but it didn’t take long for the two to tangle until they were impossible to separate.

I had so many plans.

I could already picture the day we’d leave this place behind.

Taste freedom together.

Where Elijah could finally be happy.

Where we’d both be happy.

But now

The bitter taste of disappointment clouded everything.

After all we’d been through, he still doubted me.

Believed people who only wanted to ruin us.

And I didn’t know how to handle that.

The pain of seeing the distrust in his eyes cut deeper than any blade ever had.

I ran both hands through my hair, my nails scraping my scalp as my chest heaved with labored breaths.
