Elijah Vaughn.
We left the bathroom already dressed, our hair still damp, the scent of fresh soap following us down the hallway.
Ilaced my fingers through his, feeling his large, warm hand wrap around mine.
A goofy smile spread across my face, impossible to hide.
I was still trying to believe we were married now.
Even if it wasn’t official, we had sealed our bond–body, soul, and heart.
My heart felt light, overwhelmed by a happiness that barely fit inside my chest.
My mind spun in a whirlwind of thoughts, the feeling so intense it made me dizzy–with joy, with love, with relief.
I was so happy that, if I died right then, I’d go with a smile on my face.
I never want to be apart from him again.
Our recent fight had filled me with so much anxiety and fear… Now, I don’t even want to be a meter away
from him.
I want to stay glued to him, to feel his warmth, his touch, his constant presence. And I know he likes that too, because his gaze always softens when I get close–like it brings him peace as well.
Dante had become everything to me: my sun on dark days, the air I breathe, my entire universe… and most of all, my home.
His arms were my refuge, where I wanted to hide whenever life felt like it was falling apart.
They were my shelter, my peace, the place where pain fades and love pulses stronger.
I couldn’t imagine existing without that touch, without that warmth.
I needed him like I needed air.
I couldn’t.
And I didn’t want to.
Live without him.
“Bunny,” his voice pulled me out of my thoughts.

I looked at him, seeing that soft smile on his lips.
“I want to show you something. Come with me.”
I nodded, curious, letting him guide me.
As soon as we left the central wing, I realized we were heading toward the exit. The hallways led to the yard where everything had started and, just beyond, to the massive iron gates that separated the prison
from the outside world.
As we approached the gates, the guards watched us closely. But one small nod from Dante was enough to get the gates opened without hesitation.
