displaying her stunning curves. Bathed in the twilight, she swam gracefully through the water like a mermaid.
By the edge of the pool, Finnian, shirtless and wearing dark swim trunks, was playing in the shallows with Brynlee.
Brynlee wore a little blue swimsuit and a cartoon floatie, splashing around happily with her father’s patient encouragement, absolutely thrilled.
In a lounge chair nearby, Elaine was leisurely sipping a coffee, a warm, affectionate smile on her face as she watched her son and
granddaughter.
Standing at the entrance, Kaia’s grip on her suitcase handle tightened instantly.
Jane and Warren also stopped in their tracks, their expressions indescribable as they took in the sight.
“This…” Jane’s voice faltered in shock, entirely unsure of what to say.
Warren’s weathered face immediately darkened.
By the pool, Brynlee was the first to spot them.
“Grandpa! Grandma! Mom is here!” Brynlee waved her little hands happily. Without even taking off her duck floatie, she scrambled out of the water
and ran toward them.
Her sweet, childish shout shattered the tranquility of the pool.
Noelle lifted her head from the water, her wet hair clinging to her face. She wiped her eyes, tossed her long hair back, and froze for a fraction of a second when she saw who had arrived. However, she quickly regained her composure.
She climbed the ladder out of the pool with practiced grace, water droplets sliding down her luminous skin. A staff member promptly draped a robe over her shoulders. She pulled it together casually and

tied it, her movements fluid and natural, carrying the relaxed air of wealth as if she were the true lady of the house.
“Kaia. Mr. and Mrs. Chavez,” Noelle greeted with a smile.
Finnian quickly threw on a light robe and walked over. “You made it. Let the staff take your bags. Kaia, why don’t you play with Brynlee for a bit? She loves the water.”
Kaia ignored him and simply said, “My parents and I booked rooms in the city. I’d like to take Brynlee with us so we don’t intrude on you all.”
“Mom, aren’t you and Grandpa and Grandma staying here?” Brynlee’s pretty brow furrowed. “There are lots of rooms! You can stay here.”
“No, thank you. Brynlee, do you want to come play with Mom in the city?” Kaia asked softly, her eyes full of tenderness.
“Yes! I want to play with Mom and Grandpa and Grandma.” Brynlee chose her mother’s side without a second of hesitation.
Just then, Elaine walked over and said sharply, “Kaia, did you bring your parents here for a vacation, or did you just come to take Brynlee away?”
Jane looked at Elaine and replied politely, “It’s boring when it’s just us adults. Having Brynlee around makes it much more fun.”
Warren didn’t even bother engaging with Elaine. He looked directly at Finnian. “You’re not going to stop us, are you?”
Finnian paused for a moment before offering a mild smile. “Dad, Brynlee wanted to get out and explore anyway. It is a bit boring just sitting around here. If you can take her out to have fun, she’ll be thrilled.”
Elaine’s face immediately darkened. “So, you came all this way specifically to take Brynlee away?”
Kaia nodded.
The usual warmth in Elaine’s eyes vanished, replaced entirely by the
