Chapter 310
Finnian stared at her, the rage simmering in his dark eyes threatening to boil over. “Fair? You want me to sign this so you can openly date Simon Quinn. Is that it?”
Kaia let out a mocking laugh. “Finnian, what right do you have to dictate who I see? We are getting a divorce. Stop trying to control a life you’re no longer part of.”
The words caught in his throat, choking him.
Is this some twisted revenge?” Finnian demanded, his voice ragged. “Because Noelle and i grew up together? Because I protect her? Are you seriously questioning my integrity over some baseless jealousy?”
Hearing him finally address the issue head-on sent a sharp pain through Kaia’s chest. She looked down at her hands. “Finnian, I’m not that bored. I just… I want the chance to start over. I’m not questioning anything anymore. Our marriage was built on transactions and utilization from the start. Talking about deep, undying loyalty now is just ridiculous.”
Finnian sat rigidly, unable to formulate a response.
Kaia looked up, a faint glint of unshed tears in her eyes. “All I’m asking is for you to stop suffocating me. Is that really too much to ask?”
Finnian opened his mouth to argue, but the frustration clawed at his chest, leaving him speechless.
“If you can’t accept it, then forget it. Tell Noelle to find another savior for Aethelstan,” Kaia said dismissively. She stood up, walked around the desk, and reached for the agreement in
his hand.
Before she could take it, his large hand shot out, wrapping tightly around her wrist. He snatched the paper back, his voice trembling with suppressed fury. “Are you… forcing my hand?”
Kaia winced at his crushing grip, but her eyes remained dead and hollow as she stared down
at him.
“How am I forcing you, Finnian? Did I force you to be loyal to me during this marriage? No. I know you can’t force someone to care, and I’m done trying to force a bitter fruit to taste sweet. I’m giving you a choice. So back off and stay out of my personal life.”
Finnian’s eyes widened. A surge of chaotic emotions battered against his ribs. Kaia felt so incredibly alive right now-her anger, her sorrow, her fierce defiance-it was a stark contrast to the docile, invisible wife she used to be.
His gaze dropped to her lips, his throat bobbing as he swallowed hard.
“Fine. I accept your terms,” Finnian finally gritted out. He wanted to maintain his dominance,

but the impending corporate disaster left him comered. He had no choice but to surrender
Kaia yanked her hand free. She pulled a tissue from the box on her desk and slowly, deliberately, wiped her wrist where he had touched her.
Finnian felt a flash of sheer humiliation. She was treating him like a disease.
Fuming, he grabbed a pen and signed the document. His hand, usually so steady and commanding, shook, turning his elegant signature into an aggressive scrawl.
He had never been strong-armed into submission in his entire life. Yet, since Kala had asked for a divorce, he found himself constantly retreating.
Leaving Veridian Future in a foul mood, Finnian headed straight to Aethelstan. The sun had already set.
From his car, he ordered Noelle to assemble the crisis team immediately. He needed to oversee this personally.
The Aethelstan conference room was brightly lit, packed with the core technical heads of every department. Noelle sat at the head of the table, arms crossed, her expression grim. Cytogene’s foreign experts were seated opposite, earpieces translating the tension in the
room.
Anxiety hung heavy in the air. The table was buried under stacks of data charts and
schematics.
The door swung open, and Finnian strode in, followed closely by Dexter.
“Let’s begin,” Finnian commanded before Noelle even had a chance to stand and greet him.
Noelle blinked, quickly recovering. “Alright, let’s get started.”
Everyone sat up straighter. Finnian was the ultimate

Oory meeting.
Finnian took the seat next to Noelle, his presence dominating the room. “Where exactly is the project stalled?”
The project manager nervously glanced at Noelle before pulling up a complex molecular structure and a wall of corresponding data on the projector.
“Mr. Sanders, this is the new target mechanism provided by Cytogene. We’ve followed their technical roadmap for two months, but our data sets simply won’t align with their projections. This specific receptor site’s mechanism is incredibly volatile. We’ve run hundreds of simulations, and it remains unstable.”
Finnian stared at the dense wall of data, his brow furrowing.
“What about Cytogene?” Finnian switched to fluent English, addressing the foreign consultants. “Can’t your team provide technical support?”

The lead expert leaned into his microphone. “Mr. Sanders, this anomaly is unprecedented for us. We’re highly suspicious of the root cause. We theorize it may be linked to genetic or demographic variations in the clinical data sets.”
The project manager chimed in. “We’ve hypothesized the same thing, but we lack the
comprehensive data to prove it.”
Finnian stared at the table, processing the information. After a long silence, he looked up
So, what exactly is the immediate problem?”
