Chapter 324
Chapter 324
“Silas, do you honestly think I can walk away cleanly?” Kaia asked.
He didn’t even hesitate. “It’s going to be brutal. My cousin knows how invaluable your tech skills are now. He will use every trick in the book to keep you at the company.”
Kaia’s brow furrowed. That aligned perfectly with her own fears. Professionally, she didn’t have a better alternative lined up. The resources and prestige she had access to within The Sanders Conglomerate were unmatched. But she knew that once the divorce was finalized, she had to leave. She couldn’t stomach the idea of running into her ex-husband in the corporate halls every single day.
“Don’t lose hope, Kaia. Even if you’re patient, certain other people are
out of time. When push comes to shove, you’ll get your out,” Silas
reassured her.

Kaia paused. He was right. With the matriarch forcing Noelle into arranged setups, Noelle would inevitably grow desperate. She would do whatever it took to secure Finnian, and that desperation would force the
issue.
“Good point,” Kaia said, feeling a sudden wave of relief wash over her.
That afternoon, Dexter arrived at her office with a formal document. He explained that Finnian had personally approved a ten-day paid leave for her exceptional performance on the Aethelstan project.
Kaia signed the paperwork without hesitation and immediately coordinated with her team to cover her absence.
Silas enthusiastically approved the final sign-offs.
Clearing her desk, she texted Celine, telling her about the impromptu trip
to Switzerland and asking if she was free to tag along.
Celine’s reply was instant: she was already packing her bags.
Chapter 324
Reading the mc33age, Kaia burst into laughter. Her fierce, independent friend was clearly desperate for a vacation. Having Celine along guaranteed the trip wouldn’t be dull.
Because they were on a tight schedule, Kaia and Celine booked their flights that very night. When Brynlee found out she was flying out to see Anna, she squealed with joy and immediately started packing her favorite
toys.
At the airport, Kaia held Brynlee’s hand as they met up with Celine. While waiting to board, Brynlee kept glancing back at the terminal doors, tugging at Kaia’s sleeve. “Is Dad really not coming? He promised…”
“He has a lot of work to finish. He might catch up with us later. Let’s just get on the plane first, okay?” Kaia said softly, noticing the immediate drop in her daughter’s mood.
“Will he be mad?” Brynlee asked in a small voice.
“Why would he be mad?” Kaia blinked.
“Because we’re going on a fun trip without him.”
Kaia smoothed her daughter’s hair. “He won’t be. Your dad isn’t that petty.” Celine chimed in with a bright grin. “Brynlee, your mom told me you’ve been practicing your photography! You have to take lots of gorgeous pictures for me on this trip, deal?”
Brynlee’s attention instantly shifted. She flashed a gap-toothed smile. “Okay, Celine! I’ll be your official photographer.”
While Kaia’s flight departed into the night, the sun was just beginning to rise back home. At six in the morning, Noelle tossed a light duffel bag into the trunk of her white Bentley.
The exclusive neighborhood was still wrapped in silence as she pulled out of the driveway.

Chapter 324
She rolled down the window, letting the crisp morning air flood the cabin.
Ever since her professional humiliation over the Aethelstan failure, Noelle had barely slept. Last night had been plagued by fractured nightmares. She dreamt of Rafael Sanders staring at her with melancholic eyes. She dreamt of Finnian’s wedding, lifting the veil to reveal Kaia’s blushing face. And she dreamt of that gray, dismal morning when she was nine years old, leaving her impoverished hometown behind.
The suffocating weight of those memories left her gasping for air. She pressed hard on the accelerator, merging onto the highway.
She already knew Kaia was taking time off, though she had no idea Kaia was currently miles above the ocean. In Noelle’s mind, Kaia’s vacation was a calculated power move-a way to flaunt her indispensability to the company by taking a sudden leave just to prove she could.
Just as she merged into the fast lane, her phone rang. She tapped her earpiece to answer, and Pearl’s voice came through.
“Noelle, tomorrow is the anniversary of your father’s passing. Are you coming back to pay your respects?”
“No,” Noelle replied coldly. “I’ll honor him my own way. Don’t worry about
it.”
“But-”
“I’m driving. Hanging up.”
Noelle pulled the earpiece out and tossed it onto the passenger seat.
Moments later, Elaine Sanders called. Seeing the caller ID, Noelle quickly answered.
“Mom!” Her voice instantly shifted to a warm, gentle tone.
“Noelle, I just stopped by your place, and Mrs. Wagner said you left. Are you heading to Serenity Monastery to pray for your father? Tell me you didn’t go alone,” Elaine said anxiously, pacing in Noelle’s apartment.
