Chapter 399
Chapter 399
Realizing he wasn’t joking, Elaine finally gave him the address.
Half an hour later, Finnian walked into an elite luxury spa. In a private VIP suite, he found Elaine fresh from a facial treatment. She had been a staggering beauty in her youth, and time had left barely a trace on her features. Sitting next to Finnian, she looked more like his older sister than his mother.
The staff had been relentlessly buttering her up, leaving Elaine absolutely glowing. She was obsessively checking her reflection in a hard mirror, utterly captivated by her own flawless skin.
Finnian sat down beside her, his expression grim. He was entirely accustomed to his mother’s vanity, well aware that she desperately craved a second chance at love but kept her desires firmly suppressed out of fear of Josephine’s wrath.
“Alright, tell me. What’s so urgent that you had to drag yourself all the way out here?” Elaine picked up a warm cup of coffee and took a delicate sip. Finnian looked up at her, swallowing hard before forcing the words out. “Mom, what I’m about to tell you cannot leave this room. You cannot mention a word of this to Grandmother or anyone else.”
Elaine stared at him, slowly lowering her cup. “What is it?”
Finnian looked down, clasping his hands together. After two agonizing seconds of silence, he said, “Noelle is pregnant.”
Elaine froze. A palpable wave of desolation washed over her face. She wasn’t angry or joyful, just deeply bitter as she murmured, “Pregnant already? Rafael hasn’t even been gone that long. So, she’s decided to just move on and start a new family?”
“Mom.” Catching the raw heartbreak in her voice, Finnian corrected her instantly. “The babies are Rafael’s.”
Chapter 399
Elaine’s expression shattered. She stared at Finnian in absolute disbelief, her voice trembling. “What did you just say?”
Finnian carefully laid out everything he had uncovered, detailing every last piece of the timeline and the medical procedures.
By the time he finished, tears were streaming down Elaine’s face. The shock and overwhelming joy robbed her of her ability to speak. She buried her face in her hands and let out a loud, shattering sob. “Is it true? Are they really Rafael’s? Finnian, you aren’t lying to me, are you?”
Watching his mother weep tears of absolute Euphoria, Firmian kept his tone grounded. “I would never lie about this. But the transfer was very recent, and Noelle’s body is incredibly fragile. If she wants to carry these babies to term, she has to be relentlessly careful. That’s why she’s kept this a total secret-she’s terrified of losing them.”
In the middle of the luxurious VIP suite, Elaine sobbed, her face illuminated by pure, unadulterated ecstasy. She truly never believed fate would grant her such a miraculous reward.
“Thank God… Thank God! Rafael has children! My poor boy actually left a piece of himself behind in this world!” Elaine grabbed Finnian’s arm desperately, the tears flowing harder. “Where is she? Where is Noelle? Iş she okay?! Are the babies safe?!”
Feeling her physically trembling, Finnian knew exactly how much these babies meant to her.
He placed a reassuring hand over hers. “Mom, Noelle is at the hospital right now. We’ve hired the best doctors and secured the absolute best medical care. Don’t worry. She and the babies are completely safe.”
“Good. That’s good.” Elaine nodded frantically. “I’m going to see her right now. I’ll take care of her myself.”
“That’s exactly why I came to you,” Finnian agreed. “But her condition is highly unstable right now. She cannot handle any stress. Which means… we cannot tell Grandmother yet.”
Chapter 399
Elaine had zero intention of telling the old bat anyway. She still despised how Josephine treated Noelle. While Josephine would undoubtedly be thrilled about the babies, Elaine felt it was much safer to keep her entirely in the dark.
“Does Kaia know?” Elaine suddenly asked. “When Noelle threw up at the main estate dinner, was that because of morning sickness?”
Finnian nodded. “Yes. She said the nausea is brutal. She can barely keep anything down.”
Elaine’s face twisted in sudden panic. “Oh no.Kaia is a doctor. We might have missed the signs, but she definitely caught them. There’s no way you can hide this from her.”
Finnian’s eyes darkened, a deep frown etching into his face. “She hasn’t asked. Maybe she really doesn’t know.”
“Hmph. Don’t be so naive. Kaia doesn’t gossip, but that girl is sharp as a tack. She knows exactly what’s going on,” Elaine scoffed, completely unconvinced.
A spike of genuine unease tore through Finnian’s chest. Kaia’s recent attitude toward him had been glacially cold, treating him like an absolute stranger. Unless forced, she refused to even acknowledge his existence.
“Finnian, don’t blame me for being blunt, but Noelle is carrying Rafael’s children. Once she delivers them safely, they are Sanders heirs. She is doing our family the greatest service imaginable, and I will absolutely not allow anyone to threaten her or those babies.” Elaine’s tone turned deadly serious, her words dripping with a blatant mistrust of Kaia.
Finnian’s frown deepened violently at his mother’s paranoid hostility. “Mom, Kaia isn’t going to do anything. Just drop it.”
“It’s not that I don’t trust her, but she gave birth to a child with a congenital heart defect. Do you honestly think she’s going to happily stand by while Noelle delivers perfectly healthy heirs? She might play nice to your face, but when it comes to the inheritance…”

Chapter 399
“Mom, you have zero right to question Kaia’s character like that. She would never target unborn children,” Finnian snapped, disgusted that his mother would stoop to such baseless accusations. It felt as though his family was standing on the absolute edge of a permanent fracture, and the thought sickened him.
“Fine, fine. Believe whatever you want. I just can’t stand the sight of her right now, and keeping my guard up makes me feel a hell of a lot safer.” Seeing her son’s furious expression, Elaine quickly backpedaled, waving him off. “Whatever, let’s drop it. Just drive me to the hospital. I can’t wait
another second.”
