Whats She Overheard in Her Own Marriage novel Chapter 436

Chapter 436

As Linnea took a step forward, Noelle immediately sidestepped, deliberately blocking her path. “Linnea, what exactly are you trying to

do?”

Linnea frowned, looking at her in amusement. “What do you mean by

that? I’m afraid I don’t follow.”

“Cut the act.” Noelle had noticed Linnea conspicuously throwing herself in Finnian’s path recently. How much more obvious could her intentions be? Linnea let out a sudden, mocking laugh. “Ms. Lawrence, you’re merely his sister-in-law, not his wife. Don’t you think you’re overstepping your

bounds?”

“What did you just say?” Noelle narrowed her eyes, instantly reacting like a cat whose tail had just been stepped on.

Linnea kept the smile on her face, but her tone was sharp and

uncompromising. “I said, you are not his wife. I suggest you worry about your own affairs, Ms. Lawrence.”

With that, Linnea brushed past Noelle’s shoulder and strode away, not sparing her another ounce of respect.

When had Noelle ever been subjected to such blatant disregard? She whipped around, glaring daggers at Linnea’s retreating back, but Linnea completely ignored her.

As the legitimate, pure-blooded heiress of the Holt family, Linnea naturally looked down on a manipulative adopted relative like Noelle. Furthermore, the Holt family had access to far more accurate

intelligence than the public rumor mill. Noelle’s desperate ambition to usurp Kaia’s position was an open secret in their circles.

If the woman blocking her path tonight had been Kaia, Linnea would have undoubtedly shown deference.

Chapter

But when faced with a shameless woman actively plotting to be a homewrecker, Linnea felt absolutely zero obligation to play nice.

Noelle’s chest heaved, suffocating with indignation. She hadn’t expected

Linnea to be so brazenly arrogant.

By the time Noelle finally returned to the private room, Finnian had already left with Brynlee. Instantly, an empty void hollowed out her

stomach.

Elaine was currently complaining about Brynlee’s earlier outburst. “Mom, Brynlee is only five. How could she possibly say something like that on her own? Someone must have coached her.”

“Are you implying Kaia taught her that?” Josephine asked, her gaze stern.

“Who else could it be?” Elaine huffed, clearly displeased.

Josephine looked utterly exhausted. She rubbed her aching temples and sighed. “Kaia wouldn’t do something like that. She and Finnian are getting

a divorce.”

‘What?!” Elaine gasped, absolutely shell-shocked. Over the past few weeks, she had certainly despised Kaia’s attitude, but it had never even crossed her mind that they would actually divorce. She sat there, paralyzed by disbelief.

Noelle, who had just stepped through the doorway, froze. Her eyes went wide with manufactured shock.

Josephine’s eyes held a trace of profound regret. “Kaia initiated it, and Finnian seems to have agreed. Brynlee’s custody will absolutely go to Kaia; Finnian won’t fight her for it.”

‘What is going on? When did they decide to get a divorce? Why didn’t I know about this?” Elaine’s shock rapidly morphed into the fury of being kept in the dark. She looked frantically at Josephine. “Mom, how can they divorce? Didn’t Kaia just take over as the head of R&D at Veridian? They were perfectly fine! Why are they splitting up?”

Chapter 436

Josephine looked at Elaine-a woman whose only talent was obsessing over her own appearance-and found herself at a loss for words. A foolish woman like Elaine would never be able to comprehend the nuances of the situation.

“Finnian failed to give her the love she needed over these past seven years. A woman deprived of affection for that long will eventually break. If we’re assigning blame, Finnian carries his fair share. Forget it, it’s impossible to explain. Their time together has simply run its course. Love is a complex, fragile thing.” Josephine waved her hand dismissively and stood up. “I’m tired. I’m going home.”

Ava quickly stepped forward, supporting the matriarch as they headed for the door.

Noelle, standing near the entrance, immediately pressed herself against the wall to let them pass.

Before leaving, Josephine cast a highly complex look at Noelle, prompting her to quickly lower her head in a display of meekness.

The second Josephine was gone, Elaine exploded in a fit of rage. “Kaia actually dared to demand a divorce from my son?! She really thinks highly of herself now, doesn’t she? Has she forgotten exactly how much the Sanders family gave her over these past seven years? Does she think she made the female billionaires list on her own merit? How dare she… Noelle, tell me, how could Kaia have the audacity to dump my son?”
