Chapter 458
If Noelle’s baby was Finnian’s, his marriage to Kaia was completely dead in the water. He would undoubtedly finalize the divorce.
And once Kaia was officially single, Miles would definitely make his move. The man Heather had been in love with for years was going to be
snatched away by Kaia.
Heather pushed her food around her plate, her mind racing with
infuriating images. She remembered the quiet, intensely devoted way
Miles looked at Kaia.
After lunch, the two women headed straight to a high–end Baby Boutique.
Noelle’s entire demeanor seemed to have shifted. Heather vividly remembered Noelle claiming she despised children. She had been married to Rafael for six years without a single pregnancy scare. But now, pregnant with Finnian’s child, she was glowing. She ran her fingers over tiny onesies and miniature shoes, practically vibrating with
excitement.
Heather walked beside her, plastering a fake smile on her face while drowning in envy.
Noelle had the ultimate luck. The Sanders brothers adored her. When she lost one, the younger, far more capable, and devastatingly handsome brother stepped right up to take his place.
Thinking about the golden life awaiting Noelle made Heather’s blood boil. By three o’clock, Noelle complained of fatigue and said she needed to rest. The two parted ways.
Once she was alone, Heather’s internal rage flared out of control. Noelle had the man she wanted, while Heather was about to lose her only chance at true love. The blatant unfairness of it made her sick.
Chapter 458
She pulled out her phone and saw a text from Julian Kendrick from the day before. He was asking her to find out how Noelle had been doing.
Julian was such a fool; he was completely kept in the dark.
A vicious, calculating gleam sparked in Heather’s eyes. Without a second thought, she drafted a reply: “Julian, I just had lunch with Noelle. She’s pregnant. She could barely eat before she started throwing up.”
After hitting send, Heather’s heart hammered against her ribs. Would Julian completely lose his mind when he saw this?
Julian’s call came through almost instantly. His voice was taut with manic energy. “Are you sure?”
Heather took a deep breath. “She dragged me to a baby boutique this afternoon. She was looking at both pink and blue clothes. Honestly? I think she’s having twins.”
Dead silence hung on the line.
Then, Heather heard harsh, ragged breathing. When Julian finally spoke, his voice was lethal. “That hypocritical bastard.”
He hung up immediately. Heather flinched, her stomach dropping. Julian was out for blood.

She had no idea that Finnian had previously arranged for Julian to pursue Noelle, effectively trying to set them up. She had no idea just how utterly devastating this news was to him.
Night fell, wrapping the city in darkness. Inside a dimly lit VIP room at The Alibi, the ambient lighting flickered like fireflies.
Julian had invited their usual crowd, Quentin and Chad, to drink. But Julian was completely unhinged tonight. He wasn’t talking. He was just aggressively throwing back shots.
Quentin and Chad exchanged nervous glances, completely lost as to what had triggered him.
Chapter 458
Julian poured another glass, fully intending to down it in one go. Quentin finally snapped and ripped the glass from his hand. “Julian, ease up! That’s not water. You’re going to destroy your liver.”
“I’m in a spectacular mood today, and alcohol is exactly what I need.” Julian snatched the glass back and drained it.
The heavy door swung open, and Finnian stepped inside. He was running late, dressed in a sleek black trench coat against the evening chill. Underneath, he wore a tailored light blue button–down, radiating an effortless, intimidating elegance.
“Sorry I’m late,” Finnian said smoothly, reaching for a bottle to pour a penalty shot.
Before his hand even touched the glass, Julian staggered to his feet. Without a single word, he lunged forward and drove his fist straight into Finnian’s jaw.
The brutal crack echoed through the room.
