When His Perfect Mask Shattered I Awoke (Anneliese and Zacharias) novel Chapter 676

People only became godparents for the exchange of resources. They were serious about treating each other like family and sharing contacts and connections.

Jessica knew very well what it meant for the baby in her belly to have Jonathan as a godfather. She wasn't clueless about that.

She also understood that everything Anneliese said was just an excuse to get her to agree and to back her up.

Jonathan loved Anneliese deeply. There was no way he wouldn't love their baby or fail to be a good father.

Jessica lowered her lashes and pressed down the heat in her eyes. Then she smiled at Jonathan.

"Just for this hot meal alone, the baby would definitely be willing to call you godfather."

Jonathan raised an eyebrow. He treated Jessica well for one reason only. It was because of Anneliese.

Since Anneliese wanted to be the baby's godmother, the godfather role was his for sure.

When he thought about Zane's future child calling him godfather first, he felt this deal wasn't a loss at all.

"You two take your time eating. I'm leaving."

Jonathan nodded at Jessica and rubbed Anneliese's head.

He walked toward the door, but his eyes swept across the small two-bedroom apartment.

He quickly noticed that everything had been packed up. Two large suitcases sat openly in the corner of the bedroom.

"Hubby, drive slowly on the way."

Anneliese followed him to the door. She quickly kissed his chin again and whispered in his ear.

"You're the best, Hubby. Thanks, hehe. I'll be home soon!"

She leaned against the doorframe and waved at him with a bright smile.

His gaze darkened a little, but he didn't grab her. He nodded and turned toward the elevator without a fuss.

Anneliese felt a bit confused.

Is he really just here to drop off food?

Jonathan really did seem like a delivery guy. His figure had already disappeared into the elevator.

As soon as the elevator started going down, his phone rang.

As a top lawyer, Zane took pride in his memory.

Any place he had been to or any person he had met could be pulled up from his mind right away.

He had been to Jessica's place more than once.

Even though there were no clear signs or special marks inside the elevator behind Jonathan, Zane still recognized it.

"Jonathan, why are you at Jessica's place?"

Jonathan raised an eyebrow at the screen. "Since when do I need to report to you where I go?"

His tone was sharp and clearly annoyed. If Zane hadn't messed things up with Jessica, Anneliese wouldn't have spent so much time and energy worrying about her.

That left him feeling completely ignored as her husband.

Zane felt irritated by Jonathan's sudden anger. He frowned.

"Anneliese is staying with Jessica? Tsk. Even if she's fighting with you and living apart, you shouldn't take it out on me."

Jonathan was at Jessica's place for one reason only. Anneliese was there.
