When My Ex's Worst Enemy Became My Sanctuary novel Chapter 341

When Mamie got off work, she swung by the bakery and made sure to pick out Garth’s favorite cake. Today, she was finally ready to tell him the truth.

As soon as her car rolled up to The Stephens Estate and she stepped outside, Garth came running and threw his arms around her.

“Mom, I know everything. You really are my mom. You forgot me, but I never forgot you.”

Mamie’s tears started falling one after another. She hadn’t expected her son to find out already. She crouched down right away and hugged him tight.

“I’m so sorry, sweetheart. It was my fault. I promise I’ll never leave you again.”

She pulled out the cake and gave him a hopeful smile.

“I got you cake as an apology. Can you forgive me?”

Mamie watched him anxiously, afraid he might say no. But Garth just leaned in and pressed a big, noisy kiss to her cheek.

“I never blamed you, Mom. I just missed you so much these past few years.”

Scott stood a little way off, watching the two of them hugging and crying together, and he felt his own heart soften. For the first time, he felt at peace.

“Dinner’s ready,” he called softly.

Mamie wiped away Garth’s tears.

“Come on, let’s go eat.”

“Okay, let’s eat, Mom!”

Later, after Garth had washed his hands, he looked up at Mamie with his big, slightly puffy eyes.

“Mom, Latham’s going to have a baby sister. I want a little sister too.”

A baby sister sounded so cute and fun.

Mamie’s cheeks turned pink with embarrassment. When she looked up, she caught Scott watching her with a knowing smile. He stepped over to Garth, ruffling his hair.

“We’ll do our best.”

“Yes!” Garth cheered excitedly, then ran off downstairs to his grandfather.

“Oh, by the way, how’s the show going?”

Yesterday was the first day of filming, and Dorothea thought it went fine.

“It’s going well. Honestly, it’s pretty much what we expected.”

Dorothea had prepared herself mentally. She deleted all her social media while filming, just to avoid seeing any online comments. She even uninstalled the app where the show would be streamed. Out of sight, out of mind.

But what she didn’t realize was that the internet was already obsessed.

There were huge threads about their livestream on Open Mic.

Of course, not everyone was buying it. Some people were convinced it was all just an act.

Meanwhile, Sampson, who was hiding out in some abandoned factory, saw their names trending too.

“Unbelievable. I’m over here with nothing, and they’re all over the internet acting like the perfect couple.”

He couldn’t let it go. He had to find Dorothea and demand money.
