When My Ex's Worst Enemy Became My Sanctuary novel Chapter 368

Raye looked surprised. “No, I didn’t go, and Latham told me not to call him today either.”

Dorothea said, “Could you ask around and see if anyone’s seen him? I’ll go check with Wade.”

She couldn’t sit still. Dorothea started calling everyone she could think of, but everyone had the same answer: no one had seen Latham.

Growing more anxious, Dorothea rushed downstairs just as Scott walked through the door.

Her eyes were red and worried when she looked at him. “Scott, have you seen Latham anywhere?”

Scott immediately sensed the tension. “No, I haven’t. Wasn’t he still at the wedding earlier?”

Dorothea quickly explained what happened and Scott could tell straight away that this was serious.

He spoke softly, trying to calm her. “It’s okay. I’ll make some calls and see what I can find out. Mamie, stay with Dorothea, alright?”

It was important to keep Dorothea calm, especially since she was pregnant.

She sat on the couch, looking lost. Mamie slipped an arm around her shoulders. “Don’t worry too much. Maybe he just went out with someone and forgot to tell you.”

It didn’t sound likely, but it was the only comfort Mamie could offer.

Dorothea’s tears wouldn’t stop. “This is all my fault. I shouldn’t have been so stubborn. I shouldn’t have doubted him. He’s not the type. He’s never even raised his voice at me.”

If only she’d realized sooner, maybe they could’ve found him by now.

Her phone rang. It was Aldin’s number.

“Aldin, are you with Latham?” she blurted out.

But the voice on the line wasn’t Aldin. “Miss, do you know this man? He’s asleep in the restroom. If you can, could you come pick him up?”
