‘For real, my buddy already gave up. He died seven or eight times, then went offline and stopped answering calls. I couldn’t stop laughing.‘
‘Wow, who’s this guy called Nighthale? He reached level ten in just one day. Is he cheating?‘
‘Such trash, using cheats to play games!‘
The comments were full of complaints. Everyone was ranting about how hard the game was.
Mixed among them were several posts about Nighthale.
After all, reaching level ten in a game this difficult in just one day had already made Aiden’s name unforgettable among the players.
He scrolled through the posts one by one, his face serious.
In his past life, he had been addicted to the game and often joined the discussions online.
But now he finally understood. Those players who suddenly went offline and could never be reached again were not just frustrated.
They had died too many times in the game. When their attributes reached zero, their real bodies were also wiped out.
There were many people like that.
“No wonder the government of every country made an announcement the next day saying no one was allowed to log in again. The number of people who died on the first day must’ve been over a hundred thousand. And even more people probably ended up in the hospital.”
Aiden let out a sigh and looked out the window.
Ambulances were wailing nonstop outside.
Just as he expected, on the first day of Doomsday’s launch, a large number of players died in real life after dying too many times in the game.
Some others felt unwell after dying two or three times and quickly logged out, managing to stay alive.

But even among those, quite a few started showing signs of organ failure later and were sent to the hospital for emergency treatment.
The night was far from peaceful.
His phone suddenly lit up with a notification.
He frowned when he saw who it was.
It was a message from Piper.
‘Aiden, I’ll give you a chance. Come to Heaven & Earth now and settle what you owe. Bring some food for Martin too. He’s out of the hospital. I’ll pretend what happened last week never happened.’
“D*mn it, I almost forgot about that lunatic.”
Aiden muttered under his breath. He immediately blocked and deleted all of Piper’s contacts, turned off his phone, and went back to planning his next steps.
Meanwhile, inside the luxury Room 666 at Heaven & Earth, a group of young men and women were having fun.
At the center of the group sat a woman with perfect makeup and pretty features.
It was Piper.
“Hey, Piper, you said Aiden hasn’t talked to you for a week? Do you think he’ll come if you call him out of the blue?”
One of her classmates leaned over to look at her phone and asked curiously.
Piper put her phone down with a calm look and said proudly, “You think he’d dare not come?”
“That’s Aiden we’re talking about. He’s so obsessed with you, Piper. You just have to say the word, and he’ll come running.”
A thin, pale guy sitting nearby smirked with a hint of mockery in his eyes.
“Forget about him, Martin. You got discharged today. We should be celebrating.” Piper spoke casually, pretending not to care.
But deep down, she felt uneasy.
It had been a whole week, and Aiden still hadn’t apologized.

What bothered her even more was that he hadn’t even sent a single message.
Has he really changed?
How could he dare do that?
Martin said quietly, “Actually, I got discharged early.”
